Swiss-Belhotel Napier

Promises more than it delivered. Lots of space with large rooms. A/C didn't respond to controls, no safes working at all, limited bar opening.

No restaurant and a barely-there bar, but the rooms and location are great and the price is right 👍

Spent 3 nights at this hotel, it was comfortable and quiet, but there was no cutlery or plates in the kitchen, one could order from the kitchen, to me that's a hassle we could do without especially the price we paid. Underground garage was ok ,but be aware when leaving one would have to stay to the right to deposit your remote into the box so be aware it's a high gradient and awkward to get out of your car 🚗

I recently booked a one-night stay in a Deluxe King Room and selected the breakfast-included rate through Agoda. My booking confirmation clearly stated that breakfast was included. However, when I phoned reception to simply clarify what type of breakfast was offered, I was told that my booking did not include breakfast. The receptionist insisted this was the case, despite my confirmation stating otherwise. It was disappointing to feel as though I had to argue over something that was clearly outlined in my booking details. Due to the confusion and lack of clarity, I decided to cancel the reservation. As a result, the property has missed out on a $320 booking and a potential returning customer. Overall, a frustrating experience before even arriving. Not impressed.

Would stay again, i was here for a short stay, real good

Just like many other guests complaining here, my holding charge has still not been returned to my card from my stay here approximately a month ago. Seems like the hotel thinks they can just get away with it. Stay away from this scammy hotel if you can. EDIT: Editing this review after response from hotel. I just went back to my transactions and checked that I was charged the amount INCLUDING the so-called “hold” and the money has been deducted from my account and not been returned yet. Very dodgy hotel, stay away. SECOND EDIT: My thanks to Mr Chris Boyd for giving me a phone call and clarifying the issue. Seems like the issue was with my bank not updating the return as a separate line item on the statement as I am used to happening usually. I have updated my review to reflect this and my apologies for blaming an issue with the bank on the hotel without checking first.

Mixed experience here. Arrived to check-in and no sign of any staff at the desk. After a wee wait someone did show up and checked us in. Despite stipulating we needed a carpark at time of booking we were advised none were available for that night. The room itself was OK - but - being located just above the garage roller door - was quite noisy with the door rattling up and down at all hours. The place is single glazed so noise from this and the road was very noticable. Add in the thin walls and you could hear every cough from the neighbouring room. Being dog friendly the yapping of a dog was also noticable. On checkout they had added on charges for breakfasts. We did not have breakfast at the hotel at anytime during our stay. The charges were reversed.

We chose to stay here during our Napier visit! Most of the art deco hotels in downtown were very expensive so it was nice to find this hotel at a more reasonable rate. It’s in a modern nice hotel building however they spent the time decorating the inside of the hotel with art deco styling so you still feel like you are in Napier. We also chose this because it was super close to the downtown. The hotel was easy to stay at & walk to the downtown of Napier with an easy 10 minute walk. So it made a nice base to leave our car at the hotel & walk to the downtown close by. We didn’t need to pay for parking & grabbed a spot literally right next to the hotel along the road & was able to leave it there for the day of our stay. The room was massive complete with a nice mini kitchen nook & generous sized bathroom. Room was very clean & had all the amenities we needed. The hotel was always quiet & we had a nice sleep here. If you want to stay in Napier but not pay the downtown premium, have a cozy clean room while being close enough to enjoy all the downtowns offering- Swiss Belhotel Napier hotel is perfect for you!

Located in supermarket car lot. Indifferent service. Tricky business to get your room cleaned. Most will not follow procedure and will be surprised to find that their room has not been made up. You can do much better for the money.

The rooms are spacious and welcoming. I even had a little ocean view! It is nice to have a kitchenette with a milk frother and instant or nespresso coffee maker. What really is the star is breakfast. It is Sandra's cook to order for eggs and the muffins are delicious 😋!

Very nice place with gym very close to beach and centre.
