Double Palm Inn

We have stayed in Escalante on a few occasions throughout the years. This is by far the best option that we have stayed. We enjoyed the rooms next to the pool. King size beds were a bonus with an extra bed for our little one. They were simple and clean with basic supplies in the room. The pool was nice and has shallower end for kids and deeper for others. Restaurant was open for breakfast and other meals and food was tasty and they have aircon. They were attentive to our needs with extra towels and blankets. Parking was available for our big 15passenger van but can get full as it’s a smaller lot. It’s located next to grocery store and all other needs like coffee, bank, laundry etc. So super convenient. If you are planning to bring family/others to swim, make sure you check costs so you’re not surprised. Overall we loved it and will certainly be back again.

I’ve been visiting Escalante for a couple decades from Canada and this is the best place there to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, I’ll definitely be coming back. If you’re a westerner then yeah you may need to adjust your expectations, but in terms of what’s available in Escalante it’s a great spot.

We can do it for 1200 for a single room though No TV No free bottle water but you can ask for service water in the lobby No free coffee No free breakfast haha ​​just buy it outside there are many restaurants around the corner

Unfortunately, you don't have much choice in Esclante for a hotel. I really didn't want to stay here, but it was located where we needed to be. The hotel only takes cash. I thought this was a little odd, but credit cards aren't used much in Esclante. I booked their "Jr. Executive" room for 2150 pesos. The TV didn't work. They had to replace it. The fan in the bathroom was broken. The sliding door to the closet was broken. Our "key" would not open our door. I had to get someone from housekeeping to open our door almost every time we came back to the hotel. You have to pay them in advance every morning by cash. I have never heard of this before. Usually you pay your bill when you leave. We made the mistake of having breakfast in the hotel. The food wasn't good. The second morning of our three night stay I gave them 3000 pesos to cover the cost of breakfast and the second night hotel stay which totalled 2630 pesos. I was waiting for my 370 pesos change and they didn't have any change. They thought I should just wait until check-out. I told the lady at the desk I needed the change to cover my trike rides. She got irritated that I wanted my change right away and went somewhere and then handed over my change. It was like I was putting her out. Even the first day was weird. I gave the hotel 2200 pesos to pay the 2150 pesos for the first night stay. Again, they didn't have 50 pesos to give me back..What kind of hotel are they running here??? They ask you to pay them upfront in cash but don't carry any change. I am still waiting for my 50 pesos change because they insisted on keeping it until check-out. We had to request they clean our room every day and the front staff are not very friendly. If you are passing through Esclante...don't stop...go on to the next town! I would give them one star. To say we had the "executive suite" is a real joke. Not recommending this hotel or staying over in Esclante.
