We had a very well-air-conditioned mixed dorm. The bed was quite large and comfortable with a curtain for privacy, and a locker was available, but you'll need to bring your own padlock. We honestly expected something less comfortable. The dorm had a sink, toilet, and a large, clean shower. We slept well. The hostel is well located. The staff were really pleasant and friendly. Breakfast is available for 12 euros. Happy hour offers beers, omelets for 5 euros, and even pizza 24/7. We loved it. The only slight downside was the paid luggage storage in the basement, which was a bit expensive. There's no free luggage storage. The nightly rate was reasonable for the area; it's hard to find better. We'll be back.

I had a great stay in this hotel in a girls' dormitory, the cleaning was very well done, there is a good atmosphere and you feel safe.

I vacated the room within 3 minutes of arrival, it was that bad. The room was in a completely unacceptable state: an open bag with clothes strewn across the floor, trash throughout, makeup stains on the wash basin, and no ventilation whatsoever. There was barely room to stand. The condition of the lifts and corridors was equally distressing. The overall environment caused me significant discomfort and I had no choice but to leave immediately, without requesting a refund or a room swap. The listing photos are misleading. The property is considerably darker and more poorly maintained than shown. I would not recommend this to anyone.

The management should really not be charging € 194.20/night for a private room with only half the electricity working. I was checked in to room 504 and found out that the overhead lights and bed side lights were not working. There was only one small light by the window and the bathroom lights. I asked to change rooms because it was really dark and was moved to room 604. Same issue but with an added smell from the bathroom. The guy at the reception tried his best to help me, he came in to check the situation in both rooms and even went to look for new lightbulbs for me while he was multitasking, so big kudos to him. It was clearly a deeper issue that required actual maintenance, and conveniently, no maintenance person was available, and no one from the management that I could speak to, and no table lamps that I could use as a backup on the bedside table were available. I also noticed that the same person working at the reception was expected to be the bartender, the cook for bar orders + he had to help with electricity, and is probably working a 12h shift. I'm not sure if the management is trying to cut costs or what, but these things are noticeable to customers. My point is: you should not be charging that amount of money if you don't have the basics in order. For anyone reading this and who wants a private room in Brussels, please consider BX Downtown, Hilton Garden, Radisson, or many others who charge surprisingly less compared to Latroupe for one night and are cleaner + you know what you are getting. Very disappointing.

I booked with them and at the time I paid 97 euros, I had simply made a mistake with the dates because the Booking.com app was showing dates two months in the future. Since I had already booked and paid, I called and emailed to request a change, but received no response. I arrived at the hotel and they said they couldn't do anything—no change or refund. It was a bad experience and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. They are unscrupulous and only think about profiting.

Zero points for breakfast management. On Monday, we went down to breakfast at 9:00 AM, and there was nothing left except sliced bread. We asked, and they told us there was nothing else. We practically went without breakfast. We also reported that the coffee machine wasn't working, but they didn't do anything about it. When we went back down to our room later, they had restocked everything. We paid for breakfast for two days and only got it for one. A disgrace.
