Lo que dicen los críticos

Visitors praise the Hausboot Lore for its beautiful location in Duisburg's inner harbor, offering great views, especially at night, and its well-equipped, comfortable interior. However, some guests found the beds to be narrow and the mattresses too soft, impacting their sleep. The water is also noted as not being suitable for swimming.

We stayed on the Lore 3 for three nights. Check-in was smooth, and the employee on the phone was friendly. The location in Duisburg's inner harbor is beautiful, with a great view. We were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine and a bottle of water, which we really appreciated. However, I'd like to explain why I'm deducting two stars. - The cleanliness of the entire boat leaves much to be desired; the bathroom was anything but clean. There was mold in the shower. The shower head was so heavily calcified that only four or five streams came out, making showering a real effort. The trash can lid, the heater, and all the corners were dusty, and there was even a button lying on the floor. You shouldn't even look behind the toilet; there was dust, dirt, and spilled liquids on the wall. On the sink, there were trays and two cups for the toothbrush. All of them were extremely dirty and had toothpaste residue from who-knows-what on them. ... - There was only one sponge in the kitchen, and it was so old and worn out that we couldn't even properly wash a pan (potentially contaminated with germs and bacteria). A sponge like that only costs a few cents. - You shouldn't look under the sofa either, as there was a lot of dust, nuts, and bits of paper there. The crevices of the sofa were full of crumbs and hair. (It could be vacuumed.) The TV, which is mounted on the wall, was completely smeared with a film of grease (probably from cooking). The windows could also use a good cleaning; they're all smeared when the sun shines on them. - The worst thing, besides the dirt, were the mattresses. They were completely worn out and so soft that you immediately sank down to the bed frame, whether sitting or lying down, so we ended up sleeping on the sofa. ``` Last night was particularly memorable: six teenagers/young adults—four men and two women—partyed hard until late into the night, with constant loud music, screaming, and extremely loud talking. Around 1 a.m., we politely asked if this was really necessary. Sleep was out of the question. The group started up again at 5 a.m. The question is, should boats be rented out like this? We rented the boat because it was clearly stated everywhere that no parties were allowed; we wanted to escape from everyday life… Three nights for €650—you'd expect the least you could expect, at least, that everything would be clean.

We've booked houseboats many times, always in the Netherlands. This was our fifth houseboat in North Rhine-Westphalia, and I have to say it easily held its own against the Dutch ones. It was very nicely equipped with a great view, especially at night. However, it's not really suitable for swimming as the water is quite dirty. A canoe is provided if you want to do some water sports. The accommodation was very clean, but keep in mind there's no oven for baking bread rolls. Otherwise, there's a Lidl supermarket just a few meters away where you can buy bread rolls. We enjoyed it! 🌄

What a lovely, unique way to spend the night! We felt incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed the sunset with the extra bottle of sparkling wine from the fridge. Highly recommended!

Superbly furnished houseboat, even better! Friendly host, great view, especially at night. City center with a wide selection of restaurants and activities, very easy to reach on foot. Would definitely stay again.

We spent a weekend on the houseboat as a group of four. It's very well-equipped and truly beautiful. The location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk from the city center. However, the beds were a bit narrow for us, and the mattresses were more than just soft. We didn't sleep very well. Otherwise, everything was perfect! 👌🏻

We had a wonderful overnight stay on the "Lore"! The peace and quiet on board and in the marina contributed greatly to our relaxation. And yet, you're just a few minutes' walk from lovely restaurants or Duisburg's old town. The "Lore" is equipped with everything you need. We didn't lack a thing. And with such fantastic weather...😎 The only downside: Unfortunately, the view from the houseboat overlooks the unsightly concrete steps in the inner harbor.
