Nightmare!!!! Very old...but that wouldn't be so bad because the location is very good... BUT - COCKROACHES in the hotel (in the hallway to the rooms) and in the room (we were on the 3rd floor, room 311...- 2 large cockroaches)...as long as the light is on in the room you don't see cockroaches...but at night🙈🙈🙈...we slept with the light on at night...they come out in the dark...the door has a gap at the bottom...so anything can crawl in and hear...but I think we are the only guests in the hotel..🙈😡 We were there for the first time and it will also be the last.

A pleasant place, a good hotel, a convenient automated reception allowing check-in at any time of day or night.

I booked a room at this place not knowing there isnt 24hour reception. When i tried to get more information about arrival nobody answered the calls. I called for 4 days straight at least 15 times total. Got no answer, no one even tried to call back or reach out. The reservation was nonrefundable and I got charged for the full 3 nights stay even though I did not know how to check in. I arrived late in Nürnberg with no way to check in. When I requested refund through booking.com they denied it. Very upset that I let myself get scammed into this.

does not state that the "hotel" has no showers and only communal restrooms. anywhere else this would be considered false advertising. do not book

A very old, somewhat peculiar hotel, just shy of being charming, but very good value for money, especially if you're not planning on staying there long and are only in Nuremberg briefly. Good breakfast.

I was able to check in early in the morning and drop off my suitcase, which was then later brought to my room.

The on-site staff member is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located near the main train station and in the city center. The hotel has aged well, and my room was practically furnished. However, for €60.00 a night and given the convenient location, I can't complain. It all depends on the individual's needs. It feels like the hotel has been stuck in a rut since it opened. Only the bare minimum of maintenance is carried out, just so they can continue offering exorbitantly priced rooms in an unacceptable state. Most rooms lack a private toilet or shower. Guests have access to only two shared toilets on each floor, which are in a terrible state – one of them couldn't even be locked. There are no showers on the entire floor, and this isn't mentioned when booking. The breakfast from the vending machines is unappealing, and given the overall condition of the hotel, it's enough to put anyone off their food. Even if it were free, this hotel is absolutely not recommended.

Let me start at the beginning. Check-in is simple and done at the machine. However, the codes issued for the room and breakfast didn't match those in the email I received beforehand. No matter, I was able to access a room. Moving on. Flickering ceiling lights in the hallway indicate a lack of maintenance. Except for the third floor, which has been renovated, all the other floors look dated and worn. The room was small, which wasn't a problem, with an even smaller bathroom. The bathroom was also quite worn. The bedding was clean, and the mattress wasn't worn out. The latter was the only positive thing about the whole place. Breakfast? Well, it's better in youth hostels. You're handed a tray of pre-packaged items from a refrigerator. The only fresh options were an apple and one type of roll, along with muesli. There were also cartons of milk, coffee, and tea. No juices or anything like that. Overall, it was good that it was in the city center and that I could leave my car in a nearby parking garage. Unfortunately, the pictures shown here don't reflect what you actually get. It's the same when booking through Booking.com. Three pictures of the room category, but not the one we were looking at. They might as well turn it into a youth hostel. My €158 for two people, two nights, and breakfast is far too much for this. I'll look for something else next time. What a shame.

Contrary to what you may read in other reviews, the hotel is located within Nuremberg's city walls. The historic building—perhaps the only one in the city that isn't painted—displays an interesting post-war facade. Inside, the hotel feels like a time capsule with luxurious retro furnishings, while still retaining a modicum of tradition. It's certainly not what most tourists, accustomed to dull, glass-and-metal American hotel giants, might expect. The gentleman at the front desk speaks reasonable English, but he's German! I think it's only fair, as a traveler, to make a bit of an effort to speak the language of the country you're traveling in. Excellent value for money. It exceeded my expectations. Plus, I was able to leave my bags until 11 PM!

Honestly, it's a scam. You book a room and it's awful, nothing like what they promised. Then, for almost 28 euros a night, they upgrade the room, but you have to pay extra. The hotel's location is very good, but if you can find another hotel, it's better because they'll overcharge you here.
