Chic setting and interior, however, the food did not match up to the setting. While the food wasn’t bad, I expected more adventurous and exciting flavours which I didn’t find in any of the dishes, aside from the dessert which was excellent. We tried the summer menu, most dishes were decent apart from the deep fried ribs which were underwhelming and lacking flavour.

Lovely dining experience. Service was great, especially considering we were a party of 11. The atmosphere was lovely. Not touristy at all. Great location. Amazing food choices. My party mostly went with their ribeye which had great feedback (it did look so good). I had sushi, carpaccio and gyoza. All very tasty. I will definitely return!

Awesome mussels! We both ordered the Mussels and Miso Chips. Steamed mussels from Breiðafjörður with white wine and shellfish broth, garlic, aji amarillo pepper. Served with miso potato chips and chili mayo. The broth was very, very tasty. The Midi Chips were crisp on the outside but creamy inside. Perfecto! Staff was friendly, war, and inviting.

Outstanding dining experience! We chose the tasting menu and were blown away—not only by the incredible flavors, but also by the sheer amount of food. Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, making it one of the best meals we had in Reykjavík. A special thank you to our server, Gudrun Rdu, who provided exceptional service. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, Gudrun made an already fantastic meal even more memorable. Very cool atmosphere with multiple bars and seating areas. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in Reykjavík, Monkeys is a must visit. Come hungry—you definitely won’t leave disappointed!

Best restaurant by far in Reykjavik, the decor is simply incredible and the menu is absolutely amazing!

We had a wonderful time at Monkeys! The service is wonderful and friendly while the food was delicious! We greatly enjoyed and would especially recommend the Deep-fried pork ribs! They were without a doubt the best tasting and most tender ribs we've ever had! Would highly recommend for a fun night out!
