Parco delle Cascine, the large green park stretching west along the Arno, is Florence's long-established outdoor cruising ground. Activity concentrates after dark near the "Piramide" monument and along the wooded paths and hedges toward the river, with a quieter daytime scene around the golf and Via della Catena side. As with any public cruising area, discretion and personal safety matter: the park is poorly lit at night, so it is wise to stay to known areas, keep valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings. Italy is generally tolerant, but the space is public and shared with other park users.
