✓ Relaciones homosexuales legales ✓ Matrimonio igualitario ✓ Eventos Pride ⚖️ Norway has been at the forefront of Nordic LGBTQ+ rights since the Partnership Act of 1993, which was the second such law in the world after Denmark's 1989 act. Norway moved to full same-sex marriage in 2009, replacing the partnership law with equal marriage rights including the right to church weddings in the Church of Norway and full joint adoption rights from the outset. The 2009 law was passed with cross-party support and came into effect on 1 January 2009. Trans rights in Norway are legally robust: legal gender change without medical requirements has been available since 2016, following a legislative reform that removed the requirement for surgery or hormone treatment and replaced it with a simple self-declaration process available from the age of 16, with parental consent for those under 16. A non-binary gender category has been under discussion. Anti-discrimination law (the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act) comprehensively prohibits discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, education, housing, and the provision of goods and services. Hate crime law specifically covers sexual orientation and gender identity as aggravating factors. Conversion therapy for minors has been banned. Norway consistently ranks among the top five countries in the ILGA-Europe Rainbow Index. Score: 94/100.

Bergen Pride 2026

Bergen Pride is the LGBTQ+ Pride celebration for Norway's second city and the surrounding western Norway region — an event that combines the energy of a growing Pride movement with the extraordinary setting of a UNESCO World Heritage city surrounded by mountains and fjords. The Pride parade moves through the centre of Bergen, passing the Bryggen waterfront and the city's historic streets, and the surrounding programme includes events at Knapenstampen and other venues across the city. Bergen Pride takes place in June, during the same Norwegian Pride season as Oslo Pride — allowing visitors who want to experience Norwegian gay culture in depth to combine both cities in a single trip, travelling between them on the scenic Bergensbanen railway. The event draws participants from across western Norway, the university student community, and an increasing number of international visitors who have discovered Bergen as a travel destination through its fjord reputation and now engage with its gay community during Pride season.

Oslo Pride (Skeive Dager) 2026

Oslo Pride — officially Skeive Dager (Queer Days) — is Norway's national LGBTQ+ celebration, held for nine days each June in the Norwegian capital. One of the world's northernmost major pride events, Oslo Pride fills the city with cultural programming, debate, community events and the Pride Parade through Karl Johans gate. Norway has consistently ranked among the world's most LGBTQ+-friendly nations, and Oslo Pride reflects that: the event is deeply embedded in mainstream Norwegian culture, with broad government and corporate support. The parade draws 50,000+ marchers and spectators through the city's elegant boulevards.
