Mercury Disco Pub

Mercury is where Benidorm's gay village goes to dance. Planted on Carrer d'Alacant in the middle of the Old Town triangle, it is a disco pub rather than a sit-and-sip bar: pulsing dance and house, flashing lights and DJs who keep the floor moving until the small hours. The crowd skews young and international, and the energy picks up late - this is a second-half-of-the-night venue, the natural next step once the cocktail bars along Santa Faz and Alacant start winding down. During Pride week in early September, Mercury is one of the engines of the street party, with the crowd spilling out onto the pavement and the music carrying halfway down the block. If you only do one proper dance stop in the village, this is the one most people point you to.
