I have totally forgot to leave a review, but i visited this inn about a year and a month or so ago. It was awesome! I went for my birthday, and it was quite a nice hotel. Cool location, and it was pretty quiet throughout the night, quieter than you would expect next to a pretty busy road! I only stayed for one night, but the bed was very nice, as was the room i stayed in. I went down for breakfast, and there was only one other couple there, so it gave off quite a peaceful atmosphere, but im pretty sure it would of been nice even with more people staying there. The interior decoration was nice, authentic, and in a way, nostalgic. I did get in a view of a different room, and it seems like all the rooms are quite high quality. It looked like some could even have a bit of a view of the castle just up the hill, which is awesome. The breakfast was nice as-well. The vibe was a bite creepy, but i don’t think theres much you can do about that in a old house with very few other guests! Overall an awesome place to stay, and i would recommend to anyone looking for a charming historic inn visiting victoria!

Cutest Victorian style cozy inn. Receptionist was running the whole place alone and was amazing! Super smooth check in and check out process - loved it so much!

Pretty good hotel with amazing rooms. The main thing that disappointed me was that the rooms were not cleaned every day. Also, one time a staff member knocked once and opened the door to my room while I was sleeping, which felt uncomfortable. The breakfast was pretty good. However, I didn’t really like the owner (I think) or one of the serving women they gave me a bit of a creepy feeling. The location is nice and close to downtown. I would say it’s okay to try once, but probably not a place I would stay again.

Rachel was amazing host in the morning. However the first eve and night at garden gate wasnt as great. Extensions chords and portable fan made the experience to that of s motel. The toilet had no water to flush in the morning and insulation isnt as great at Garden gate as i woke up to loud noise of water draining. But 5 stars for Rachel!

Close by a few restaurants. A couple km to walk downtown or to waterfront in Oak Bay area. Well priced. Keep in mind no elevators and some rooms are 2 storeys up.
