The hotel was worse than I expected and I had low expectations going in. The room stinks of cologne or perfume. Stains on the bedding, one window will stay open to cool off room but no screen and there’s a scaffolding that other rooms could come to your room on so if you are a solo traveler, it’s hard to feel safe. The other window will only stay open when propped with a hard object. They started vacuuming the room above me at 9:03am. This is a very old and historic building and there is lots of noise from surrounding rooms and the street. Bring ear plugs and be prepared for the smells. The bar was cool but pretty pricey surprisingly. Drinks average $9-10 including tap beer.

Been waiting a long time to visit this bar after seeing it featured on several paranormal shows. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. This definitely did not feel like a welcoming tourist destination — more like a locals-only spot. When we arrived, there were three bar-backs and only one bartender working, which made the wait extremely long. Surprisingly, the bar-backs weren’t even helping with simple drink orders like beer. The atmosphere itself was underwhelming as well. The music was awful, and there was a strong smell of weed throughout the bar, which made the environment even less enjoyable. I also expected some kind of souvenir or gift shop because of the bar’s popularity on paranormal TV shows, but there was nothing besides a few shirts and hoodies that were completely out of stock. We ordered only a few beers and a Diet Coke, yet the bill came to around $25, which already seemed overpriced. The biggest issue came when the bartender presented the receipt. She never mentioned that gratuity had already been added to the bill, nor did she provide an itemized receipt showing the added tip. Instead, she only handed over the standard receipt prompting for an additional tip. Naturally, I assumed no tip had been included and added one myself; I added $5. Later, my credit card company alerted me that I had left roughly a 36% tip. That’s when I discovered the original bill was only about $22, with an undisclosed $3 gratuity already added. Failing to disclose an automatic gratuity and then encouraging customers to tip again is extremely misleading and unacceptable. Overall, this visit was disappointing, overpriced, poorly managed, and left me feeling overcharged. I would not recommend this bar to anyone. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BAR.

Very clean hotel. Room was clean and quaint. Water pressure was fantastic. Hotel and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great. The hotel added to the great experience my neice and I had exploring Juneau.

The room was very clean, the employees were nice and friendly and the location is perfect if you don't want to rent a car and enjoy what downtown Juneau has to offer. There is, on most days, live entertainment. From their one person bands to their karaoke, excellent. And I'm not a fan of karaoke. After all, I give them the 5 star rating, even tho I didn't see any ghosts. Lol

I live in Sitka and travel around Alaska frequently for work, meaning I've stayed in my fair share of historic Alaskan hotels in small communities from Gustavus to Utqiaġvik (Barrow). I’m generally pretty tolerant of their quirks, but this place was a different story. We honestly debated walking out the second we reached our room. The first thing that hits you walking up the stairs is the smell. We never quite pinpointed the exact odor, but it’s a distinct mixture of diesel, varnish, and mold with each floor offering its own unique blend. Our rooms were run-down and poorly maintained. The beds were incredibly old and lumpy, and the linens were covered in stains. We had to keep the windows wide open at all times just to make the air bearable. Note to management: Replace the beds and linens. You're running an Alaskan hotel, not a flop house.

This little haunted hotel is absolutely worth a stop. While we were there, the bartender was telling me some of the wild stories connected to the rooms they’ve actually closed off and no longer rent overnight because of the amount of paranormal activity and disturbing experiences guests and staff have reported. As he was explaining some of the things he personally experienced, someone — or something — very clearly flicked the back of my leg. I spun around instantly… and nobody was there. I felt it as clear as day!! It was awesome and terrifying. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and you may leave with more than just a beer… maybe even a scare or two.
