Gaia Hotel and Nature Reserve

We had a wonderful stay! The customer service was exceptional: everyone was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well laid out, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, with excellent quality and flavor in every dish. We definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Gaia Hotel. This boutique property is a peaceful oasis tucked away in the heart of Manuel Antonio. With only 22 rooms, the experience feels intimate and personalized, and my husband and I truly felt pampered throughout our stay. Every member of the staff greeted us with genuine kindness and professionalism. They consistently went above and beyond to make our visit special. Whether it was Abraham greeting us with a smile and pulling out my chair at La Luna Restaurant or Oscar patiently answering all of our questions through the concierge, we always felt genuinely cared for. The accommodations were spotless, beautifully updated, and incredibly comfortable. The grounds were impeccably maintained, creating the feeling of a lush tropical paradise. If you’re looking for luxury, exceptional service, and breathtaking surroundings, we couldn’t recommend the Gaia Hotel more highly.

I've never been catfished by a hotel this horribly. SERVICE is impeccable, amazing- but it can't make up for these rooms. We have the top suite in the entire resort and there are bugs every where INDOORS (roaches, lizards, moths, etc), looks like it was built 60 years ago but without taste, incredibly uncomfortable, etc. The view is SUPER MISLEADING- I have to be honest, everything you see on google is false- it looks nothing at all like what they show you. The view is secretly of the city and trees, you're better off at the resorts with the ocean views, specifically issimo, that one took my breath away with everything just being amazing. Its dinner time here and im on the doordash app, the menu is boring and completely random like your picking your dish out of hat. Man did i mess up with this choice... again service is great and so welcoming. It's not their fault that the photographer is misleading anyone staying here. I'd rather lose all the money we spent and just go back to our place in Jaco. I am beyond disappointed UPDATE: Theres bugs in the bed! Cracks in the floor, balcony is uncomfortable and tinyy, view is so disappointing AFTER seeing whats on the website. MORE AND MORE BUGS INSIDE (WE JUST GOT HERE WE HAVENT LEFT ANY DOOR OR WINDOWS OPEN AT ALL). It was too late to drive back when i wrote this review + when we took it all in, (my man felt the same wat and we drove back to Jaco in the morning). Im crying and my voice is gone from screaming at the unpleasant surprises under blankets, curtains, in the closet, behind tables. THIS IS A 3 STAR HOTEL AT BEST FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT A 5* HOTEL IS LIKE. Its 5/30/26 now and i want to add that i am a very bubbly person and like i stated earlier, the staff does not deserve any rudeness or complaining that they can't do anything about- being that we were in the best suite in the house. Anyway, what they said about my attitude and reaction- thats just how i am, again, why would i be angry and rude towards the staff, i held it in until i cried to my man. Anyway once he called and literally repeated everything i said in this review, so clearly we did express our concerns and dissatisfaction. They offered to switch rooms but how would that be a solution if the others would be a downgrade from where we were originally at? Nothing said in this review is a lie or alleged, its all true and my experience. Thank you.

This resort was nothing short of spectacular. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped onto the property. They helped us park then shuttled us up to the lobby. We registered, met some of the staff and also met the owner Boris who welcomed us with a big smile. They gave us a tour of the property before showing us to our beautiful large studio room. The beds were so comfortable, the shower the best we have ever experience, the pool area fun to explore and La Luna restaurant top notch. Everything about the hotel is 5 star, but what makes it truly special is the staff. Everyone made us feel at home. Two of the tours (Macaw and Manuel Antonio) were hosted by Clarence who was an excellent guide, providing many interesting details and he had the sharpest eyes to find and share the various wildlife around us. Ada our concierge was responsive and attentive. Abraham and others at La Luna (sorry I forget names!) were always on point, the food was delicious and presented beautifully. We both had a spa massage with Teresa which was phenomenal, hiking in this area can be strenuous and our muscles enjoyed the deep relaxation. We had only booked 3 nights at this resort and wished we had booked more. It is definitely a place we would recommend and return to.

Gaia is a fantastic place for a relaxing vacation. The scenery is breathtaking. The food, staff and accomodations are absolutely wonderful! I would definitely go again and to anyone thinking of visiting Costa Rica Gaia needs to be your first choice.

Had an excellent experience at Gaia Hotel in Costa Rica! The staff was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious, beautiful, and impeccably clean. The views were absolutely stunning and made the experience even more special. The food was delicious, and we were pleasantly surprised by the affordable dinner prices considering the quality and atmosphere. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, amazing views, and a memorable stay close to all the attractions.

An amazing resort in the heart of Manuel Antonio. This resprt has all the amenities of any luxury resort. Large suits, spa, multiple pools. The views from the restaurant are breath taking. Above all the service is personal, super friendly and attentive all the time. The owner of the resort personally made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend if you're traveling to Manuel antiono!

The hotel is a 3 star resort at most. The staff was lovely and accommodating, but the rooms and the rest of the hotel was extremely dated and poorly laid out including the pool (which overlooked what appeared to be older buildings) and the restaurant. Our suite had dated (80s) furniture with a bedroom that had no windows. In fairness the bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. Our balcony was very small, not a great view and the awning was tied with zip ties which broke off in the rain. We had won the stay as an auction item, which appears to be common as each of the other 5 couples we met had also won at an auction.

Extremely helpful & pleasant staff. Beautiful views & rooms. Restaurant was top tier & having 2 pools helped avoid a crowd. Phenomenal location

We had a wonderful stay at Gaia! What made this place special was the staff. Ada was incredibly helpful in assisting us with booking excursions, organizing transfers, and making recommendations for other activities and reservations. Everyone at this resort was great, but some other stand outs for us were Daniel, Tony B., Anthony, Jose, Wallace, Clarence, and everyone at security. Thanks for a great experience!
