Charis presents an exciting showcase of poets! Join us for a group reading featuring: Adedayo Agarau (The Years of Blood), Kristin Entler (Of Water Never Ceasing), and Dani Janae (Hound Triptych). These poets represent a range of voices and styles in contemporary poetics. Join us virtually or in-person to explore these “small bites” of each poet’s larger works, which are sure to leave you hungry for more!
About the Poets
Adedayo Agarau is the author of The Years of Blood, winner of the Poetic Justice Institute Editor’s Prize for BIPOC Writers (Fordham University Press, Fall 2025). He is a Wallace Stegner Fellow ‘25, a Cave Canem Fellow and a 2024 Ruth Lilly-Rosenberg Fellowship finalist. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Agbowó Magazine: A Journal of African Literature and Art and a Poetry Reviews Editor for The Rumpus. He is the author of the chapbooks Origin of Name (African Poetry Book Fund, 2020) and The Arrival of Rain (Vegetarian Alcoholic Press, 2020).
Kristin Entler is a writer and educator from Alabama. She holds an M.F.A. in poetry from The University of Arkansas, and is the Poetry Editor of NELLE. They live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina with their service dog, Azzie; whose name is short for Asclepius, the Greek God of Medicine. She can be found in publications such as The Bitter Southerner, Gulf Stream Literary Magazine, Porter House Review, and BOOTH among others, as well as on most social media platforms @findmycure. Their debut poetry collection, Of Water Never Ceasing, was published by Loblolly Press in June 2026.
Dani Janae is the author of Hound Triptych (Sundress Publications, 2026). A poet and journalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, her work has been published by Longleaf Review, SWWIM, Palette Poetry, South Florida Poetry Journal, and others. She lives in South Carolina.
When she is not writing she enjoys having intimate conversations with the things that puzzle and delight her, admiring spiders, watching horror movies, and hunting for figs.
