A leather bar that's been serving the gay community in Baltimore since 1957. In the early years, customers were asked if they were a "friend of Dorothy" before entering, a reference to Judy Garland's "The Wizard of Oz" character and common lingo from the era to furtively ask if someone is gay. The adjacent restaurant, Leon's Backroom, was originally purchased by the bar owners so patrons could enter and exit the bar without using the main entrance. The Most Fun Gay Bar on the East Coast!!!
