We love staying at The Phenix, and will be back many many times. Love being in downtown Bangor, close to pubs and restaurants, especially Barliman's. Took my Mom there for Mother's day and then went to Penobscot Theater for show. Wonderful weekend all around.

A wonderful hotel, close to so many great restaurants. It was really nice to have two kings and two rooms. Very clean, and nicely designed.

This place is wonderful! I’ve stayed here a few times now & really appreciate the simple, straightforward, ease of how things are done at The Phenix. I’ve never encountered any issues during previous stays. This time, although I did not report the issues to see their response, my room required a bit of my time and energy upon arrival. The floors (room & bathroom) needed a bit of attention, the bed stand required a little love, and two communal spaces (1st floor supply & 4th floor laundry room) did not meet cleanliness standard regarding shared spaces.

The only reason why the room got three stars is because the HVAC was difficult to work with. Much more difficult than one would expect in a room that small. We never did get it to work correctly.

The room was comfortable and clean, contactless check-in was easy peesy. I’m so glad they brought this old hotel back to life!

Fantastic location right in the heart of of Bangor, nestled down by the river. You're steps away from the Blaze and Patty's, with a great stretch of shops and restaurants just up the street. The bus station is also nearby if you're arriving that way. There's no on-site parking, but it's a non-issue a couple of parking garages are just a short walk away. I found one for just $6 that let you park all day or even overnight, which I thought was a great deal. The communication with the host was outstanding. I reached out a few times with questions early check-in, late checkout and every time I got a quick, helpful, and courteous response. That kind of attentiveness really sets the experience apart. As for the room itself, I wouldn't call it five-star luxury, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. When you factor in the price and that incredible location, it more than earns five stars in my book. I'd happily stay here again without hesitation.

This was my first trip to Bangor and the accommodations were excellent. Incredibly reasonably priced, fantastic location, and a parking garage just a few blocks away. The staff was communicative throughout the process, and I slept like a baby. Highest possible recommendation.
