Coachman's Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

It was our first stay in Carmel and it was absolutely perfect. The Inn is lovely, the staff is gracious and welcoming and the location is perfect All of the Amenities are wonderful. The breakfast is really delicious, Bountiful and varied. The wine and cheese in the afternoon is delightful.

Excellent value hotel. Do you spend your vacation actually vacationing? Stay here and save $100 to do something worth remembering. V

We loved staying here, it’s right in the middle of Carmel, the rooms are spacious and cozy, the beds and pillows are so comfortable - honestly was sad to go back to our bed at home it was that comfortable. The happy hour they offer is great, the breakfast was okay - we wished that it started earlier since it didn’t start till 8 and then other days it started at 8:30. We also wished there were more protein options for breakfast, it was mostly either eggs, bagels, croissants, yogurt and oatmeal.

This hotel in Carmel has fantastic service, a perfect location in walking distance to everything in downtown Carmel, and well appointed rooms. They have a daily happy hour, a delicious breakfast, and free parking. A perfect place to stay while visiting Carmel. On a side note, AVOID eating at PORTOBELLO, the worst service I’ve experienced at a restaurant in my life.

Let's face it, Carmel-by-the-Sea is just an expensive, truly overpriced area. It's beautiful but you end up paying a lot for nice views and a quaint village. The location of this property is stellar. You can't beat parking and walking everywhere downtown. The ease was why we chose The Coachman's Inn. The property seemed well-run and it was clean and safe. The actual room itself left a little to be desired. While it appears they remodeled and refreshed, it still wasn't very functional. We had a room with a fireplace but it wasn't operable. There is a real need for functional things like coat hooks as the closet smelled musty and we didn't want to hang anything in it. The bathroom has zero storage except a small cubby and the water pressure wasn't great and there was no handheld sprayer. The toilet was ridiculously low, like child height. It is those kind of upgrades that would warrant $400/night cost that our stay was. Instead this very much felt like and should have been a $280/night max. The internet was somewhat spotty and there is no Smart TV or ability to use casting, which feels very 1990s vs 2025. Again, you pay deeply for the location and convenience. It also was quiet despite every room facing the inner parking courtyard and we did ask for a 3rd floor so no one was above us, which was great. Overall, the stay was fine but for 5 stars the amenities for the cost just wasn't there.

We had the room closest to the common area. They give out breakfast and drinks daily which meant every morning started earlier than I wanted to wake up. A lot of other guests would take a coffee then make calls outside of our room. We were there during a very humid week so the windows needed to be open and yet I needed to hear people making business calls at 730am. Not great. Lovely little town though

My wife and I had an amazing stay at the Coachman’s Inn! Lisa at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. The room was cozy with a fireplace, and the breakfast each morning was delicious — light and filling options. The inn is charming, has onsite parking, and is just steps from everything in Carmel. We’d definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay at this centrally located inn. We loved the rooms, breakfast, afternoon wine, complimentary beverages, microwave, frig, and fireplace. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage to your room unless you are on ground floor.

The Coachman's Inn was amazing. We called ahead to ask what the procedure was for checking in and what the parking was like and Lisa helped us right away and suggested we arrive early to get parking taken care of because it gets filled up quickly. Once I arrived she called me by name and knew it was me checking in. Lisa made our stay even more enjoyable and definitely took care of all our needs. The room was comfortable. DEFINITELY GET THE FAN going as there is no AC but opening Windows and using the fan. Bed is very comfortable. The Spa....what a great idea to give guests the key to the spa and let them have an entire hour to themselves. Their wine and cheese hour at 430pm everyday WAS AWESOME. Their breakfast allows you to get some wonderful food (we had the quiche) and not even leave the hotel. All food and wine and breakfast was included in the room price. Thank you for making our stay in Carmel very enjoyable. We will definitely come back.
