O Museum in The Mansion

★★★★☆ The Mansion on O & O Street Museum This was definitely a fun and unique experience, and I can see why so many people recommend it. The history alone makes it worth visiting. Learning that Rosa Parks stayed there for ten years was fascinating, and there were so many interesting artifacts and historical displays throughout the property. I especially enjoyed the biblical area and discovering some of the hidden treasures throughout the museum. The staff was one of the best parts of the experience. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. Their passion for the history of the museum really added to the visit. The famous hidden doors were fun to search for, although visitors should know that not every “door” is a secret passage. Some are actual hidden doors leading to new rooms, while others might simply be disguised cabinet doors, tub doors, or decorative features. The wine cellar was probably the most exciting area for me and one of the highlights of the tour. My biggest complaint is the price. Paying around $40 to explore what is essentially a collection of antiques and historical items felt a little steep. I also found many of the items available for purchase to be overpriced. Parking can be difficult as well, so I highly recommend planning ahead, using a rideshare service, or taking public transportation. There were plenty of themed rooms to explore, and I even learned they offer rooms for overnight stays. The only room I skipped was the Chucky room, and I personally wasn’t a fan of the witch-themed areas, so I chose to avoid those sections. Overall, despite a few drawbacks, this is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines history, mystery, and exploration. If you enjoy hidden passages, antiques, and unusual attractions, it’s definitely a must-visit at least once.

Very interesting place. The history of it and the design is very different, I loved the chaos inside, really it was very interesting to see what it got to offer. Loved the secret room hunting.

Heaven for secret door lovers, hell for anyone with ADHD

It was an amazing experience! I haven't spent the night, yet. It is a hotel and museum plus, there are hidden doors and secret rooms. Can't wait to go back, website says they change doors daily. You can buy anything on display. Had so much fun!
