Villa Toscana

First time staying here and would definitely come back - the room was cozy and quiet and I loved the garden area out front. Breakfast was better than a standard continental with some thoughtful details - little individual jars of cottage cheese in the fridge, for example

Villa Toscana is a charming place with a very old-world, homey, comfy and cozy vibe. It was perfect for our short stay in Chicago and the generous breakfast spread also eased our trip. The neighborhood is very walkable, active and there many cafes and restaurants nearby. Our bed was very comfortable and the room and shared bathroom were very clean and organized.

I've stayed at this location twice now, both the Dorothy's B&B and the Villa Toscana side. Great experiences! I plan to stay here again.

Great stay! Location is perfect, ten minute walk to wrigley. Breakfast was nice, waffles, bagels, and more. The communication before arriving was incredible, definitely setup for easy check in. Bed was extremely comfortable. Will definitely stay here again in the future

my mom and i stayed in the neo-classsic room in the basement, and it was super clean and quiet! (obviously our personal junk is in the photos mucking up the space) the bed and pillows were super comfortable. the cave is very cozy and enough room for two people, but hopefully you're close with them if you stay in this room LOL the provided free parking permits were super helpful, we didn't have to move the car at all since we took the cta everywhere we wanted to go :-) the area was awesome (didn't even realize it was in boystown, and i'm a gay trans guy myself!) lots of great restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby if you don't wanna go downtown like we did! 10/10 will be bringing my boyfriend here on my next chicago trip :-)

The absolute best neighborhood with restaurants that are to die for, would stay again

Villa Tuscana is a warm and welcoming funky little B&B. Each room has its own personality. Some have private bathrooms others not location is great. Street side rooms can be a little noisy but they provide white noise machines. Breakfast is self serve and abundant. I am a big fan!

Such a perfect place to stay!

Excellent bed and breakfast north of Chicago. We stayed in the English room which was very charming and quiet. The building has quiet hours starting at 10 which are strictly enforced. The room came with free breakfast and parking which is rare for the city. The breakfast was very good with a waffle machine, many cereals, yogurt, peanut butter toast, and local coffee available. This place is situated in a nice area with shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. Overall an excellent stay with very affordable prices in Chicago.

Beautiful property which takes you back many years! Everything is good and comfortable and breakfast spread is pretty amazing tbh I don’t understand why anyone has rated this less than 5!

Like other reviews mentioned - THIS IS A HOSTEL. Not a hotel or an airbnb and definitely not a “bed and breakfast.” Go into this with that expectation. Things we liked: - Location - near a bunch of restaurants, bars, and the bus stop - Large outdoor patio - Ease of check in / check out - Yummy snacks and breakfast options - Drip coffee, keurig cups, and tea - Mini fridge in our room - Warm dry place to sleep - Cute little kitty cats that live at the house Things we did not like: - Uncomfortable bed - lumpiest mattress and pillows ever - Downstairs common area perpetually smelled of sewer / sump gas - Run down - everything could use some TLC (broken handles, macgyvered shower head, rusty old shower curtain, holes in the wall from old hooks or nails, fire-melted hair dryer that didn’t turn on) - Clutter and mess in common areas - really don’t understand why there’s just piles of random junk throughout the property. It would take 30 min to tidy… - Breakfast bar was not restocked during our 3 night stay, ran out of two types of cereal and waffle batter by the 2nd and 3rd morning I think if someone took a weekend and gave a little TLC to the place (even just like tidying clutter, straightening picture frames, replacing broken amenities), this would be 5 stars, but for now I would say 3.5 is a fair review especially for the price point and small sizes of the rooms. If this place was $60-80 a night or if you opted for the shared room/bathroom spaces that would be more reasonable for the expectations.
