Aloft Columbia Downtown

I reserved a king and was given a queen with two beds. I told the attendant that he made a mistake and gave me the wrong room. He apologized and said that the system overbooked the king rooms. I was in the lobby later and witness the attendant issuing 3 king size rooms. I asked another attendant how do they determine who gets a king bed when they are overbooked. She told me first come first serve. I really felt pissed. I’m African American and the 3 that got the king beds were White. It’s ashamed that prejudice and racism still has its place in America.

I have never stayed in a hotel with a worse smell in my life. It smells like wet and moldy whey protein. Unfortunately I’ve been traveling all day so I’m too tired to pack all of my things up and ask them to switch my room but I would not recommend this hotel if you are tired and looking to wake up feeling well rested. I also booked a king room but was given one with two queen’s even though I specifically selected a king. Not sure how this hotel has 4.3 stars.

Great Customer Service. Very Friendly!

Told the valet i was leaving at 5 am. He said no problem. At 5 am there is no valet you have to go get your owen car. If they had of told me that I would not have paid for the valet

I've stayed at other Aloft brand hotels before. So that's part of the reason I booked this hotel on a business trip. This location was great. The staff was super friendly and helpful throughout my entire five day stay. The hotel is tidy and clean. My room was excellent. Very clean, and it was nice and cool when I entered at check-in. I received daily service throughout my stay. So it was very nice to have a fresh bed and restocked towels every day. The location is fantastic! Right next to a plethora of restaurants, bars, and other stores. The parking garage was a shared public garage, but it was included with my room rate, so it made for an easy in-and-out every day. My overall experience was wonderful. It was at the same high standard as other Aloft brand hotels that I've stayed at. I would highly recommend staying at this location

Great location and room was perfect. Walk to vista for dinner. Valet or self park cost same. View of statehouse from room. Several patios to relax on and signature drinks to try.
