Staff was friendly and helpful. Super close to most things downtown with easy access to RTD. Also, we had lunch at The Study and it was fantastic.
Great location. Pretty decor. Disinterested staff. Very hot - A/C either not working or weak. Leaky faucet in bathroom. Car service not available when asked. Parking almost $70 for the night. No follow up when broken A/C was reported. Drinks were meh.
Cozy hotel on 14th street close to a lot of restaurants. Service is good with only one exception on our vista was not being able to check in until the exact listed 4:00 check in time. May add more after we have a few more days.
Aside from the polite front desk staff, the reservation we had this past Friday was unfortunately disappointing. We arrived at this sweltering hotel at 4pm, only to be told housekeeping was “behind” and our room wasn’t ready. When asked for an ETA on when we would get our room we were told “no ETA, but hopefully within 30 minutes”. 40 minutes later we went to check on the status, and were told that in fact our room was unavailable due to a broken AC, and that they were fully booked and couldn’t offer us another 2-queen room to accommodate the 3 adults we had staying there. The staff did attempt to place us in a much smaller room, with a cot, but my frustration begins with the fact that that management is still selling 80+ degree rooms with faulty (or no) AC in 90+ degree weather and not telling people while blaming housekeeping upon check in. Completely unacceptable and poor business practice, especially considering I mentioned how warm it was at the check-in desk right when I arrived - this was a first chance to warn us about the issue instead of wasting our time after driving 4 hours with a very tight evening schedule! We then cancelled, and re-booked at the Hilton Garden Inn (highly recommend) down the street and were in our new, cold room within literally 10 minutes and were able to move on with our night. I have yet to see the charge refunded, and am hoping they plan to keep their word on our refund. I would advise booking elsewhere!
The property has such potential, but needs work. The rooms are unfortunately very hot, and with the building being old, the AC couldn't keep the temperature below 80 in the summer heat. The staff worked their hardest to accommodate, but there was nothing they could do. Even with adding two additional air-conditioning units, it was unable to reduce the temperature. The coffee bar and restaurant are great, but do not have welcoming hours, which unfortunately leaves you unaccommodated a lot of the time. I know this is par for the course nowadays, but the hotel amenity fee offers nothing to the point where turn-down service was by request only, so nothing but a cash grab there. If you’re visiting Denver, I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere.
We LOVED our stay! Luxury service and amenities, excellent food and beverages, unique history and decor. Super friendly and helpful staff!
Staying here for 2 nights although I wish it was only one. Front desk staff are great but this hotel needs some attention. From the minute we pull up--no bell service---we unloaded all 5 of our bags that was the start. I am a frequent business traveler and I can tell you I would not stay here again. Very old property that the AC can't keep up with on hot days. Our room never got below 73 degrees and because the hotel was sold out--they had to put a portable AC unit in???? The property is historic but worn and I'm just being real--like I said the front desk staff tries hard to accommodate but the property needs some work. The toilets wake you up at every flush--they literally sound like a fighter jet when you flush. The hotel restaurant and bar are very nice--however don't expect to get a drink before 4 pm on a Saturday as they are not open. All in all--you get what you pay for and I would like to say on my next trip to Denver--I would certainly look elsewhere.
