United Action for Youth

United Action for Youth (UAY) is an Iowa City nonprofit that has worked with young people and their families in Johnson County since 1970. It is a general youth agency, not an LGBTQ+-only group, but its programs include dedicated LGBTQ+ youth services: drop-in time, support and discussion groups, and affirming counselling. The centre is at 1700 S 1st Avenue on the south-east side of town. It is mainly a resource for local teenagers and families, including those who have just moved to the area. Check the website for current group times before turning up.
