Candlewood Suites Pittston by IHG

Typically, I do not leave reviews, however, I felt that I needed to for 1 main issue that I had during my stay. Overall, the hotel was clean, but often smelled of food and weed as you entered the lobby, something that I could have done without. The room was spacious and the small kitchenette was a bonus for my short stay. On my second evening, at around 4AM, the fire alarm started going off - which while frustrating, was not the issue. I stayed in my room for a bit to see if it would turn off on its own, figuring that it was a false alarm, but after about 5 minutes I made the choice to be safe rather than sorry and evacuate. I was on the 2nd floor, so I walked to the 2nd floor stairs and down to the door that takes you right outside of the lobby. I then walked into the lobby after not seeing anyone else just to make sure that everything was okay. That attitude and nastiness that I was met with by the front desk associate was 100% rude and uncalled for. I simply asked if everything was okay and was met with "pretty sure that you would know if everything wasn't okay" and other rude comments under her breath. All that needed to be said was that everything was fine and I could go back to my room, but instead made me feel that I was inconveniencing her simply by asking if everything was okay. I was traveling to this area for work, and I can assure you that I will never stay here again or recommend to other colleagues for this issue.

This is an unexpected level of quality for their usual lower end (still nice but part of their budget brand) hotel. Everything was new or well taken care of or both. Could find nothing wrong with the room or the facility. Fixtures, furniture, decor, cleanliness, comfort level, service level, appliances, amenities all top level. Absolutely nothing I could criticize and I travel A LOT. And I stay with IHG exclusively. They did a fantastic job with this one!

Breakfast in the morning would have been great since no good options nearby

We had a very nice stay overall. The hotel is very modern, clean, and well maintained. The full-size kitchen was a great feature, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One unexpected perk was the free laundry, which was really convenient. The location could be a pro or a con depending on your preferences. It’s very convenient, right near the highway, Walmart, and several fast food options, but it can be a bit noisy because of that. It wasn’t a major issue for me—I just used a sound machine app and it was fine. We did have a little trouble with the address in GPS, as it kept directing us about half a mile down the road instead of to the hotel entrance. DoorDash also had trouble recognizing the address. Additionally, the streaming services on the TV would not connect, and the casting feature was difficult to keep connected when we tried that next. The WiFi in general kept dropping. I’m sure the staff could have helped, but it wasn’t a big enough issue for me to call down. Overall, the important things you look for in a hotel—cleanliness, comfort, and helpful staff were all there. I’d definitely consider staying again.

Very nice hotel in a convenient location room was clean the staff was great and helpful with a specific issue we had upon arrival the location is right next to restaurants, gas stations, walmart, etc. Free laundry was great and they have a gym, overall nice experience.

I stayed here for 3 nights and honestly didn't want to leave! What really sets this place apart is the staff—everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. I loved having the Candlewood Cupboard for quick snacks and the 'Lending Locker' for items I forgot to pack. My room felt like a little apartment rather than a cramped hotel room. If you’re visiting Pittston, this is definitely the place to stay for a bit of extra comfort and local hospitality!

The room was really nice with plenty of space, the kitchenette was more than adequate and the staff was super friendly and unbelievably fast bringing us extra towels. The only down side was that our room was on the highway side and it was pretty loud to night long.

Great suites for long term. Free laundry machines, fitness center, across from Walmart for food, Weis markets does free delivery to hotel too. Easy access to major roads. Several fast food places and a Denny's. Hotel very clean and quiet. Great staff most of the staff at check in are super nice as are the cleaning crew!

Quite, well kept facility. Near to food, malls, entertainment etc. The options are available to prepare own meals. Hot water was cold and cold water hot!?!

Convenient location next to the expressway and windows block the noise well enough. A/C worked well even tho it was below freezing outside (the room was in the mid 70s when we arrived). Did not use kitchen, arrived to just sleep and leave at 6am. I would suggest not eating breakfast at Denny's across the street, any other restaurant will offer better tasting food. No ice machines nor recycling bins that I could find. The rear entrance needs a ramp to get a cart from your room to your parked car.
