I worked here one year in college and it was a great summer. We came back when my kids were 3 and 5 and we now have 7 mini (3 night) sessions under our belts. The cabins are rustic and the bathrooms are shared so this is not a fancy resort. However, ALL the meals are provided and the kids go off to organized activities divided by age for several hours a day. This means that I can go on vacation with my kids and not worry about a single meal and actually have a chance to sit on the patio and read a book undisturbed. We give our kids a cabin key and set them up with a tab in the camp store and pretty much don't see them until there is a family activity scheduled. The staff is amazing. Most are college kids that come back year after year until they get real jobs. We moved to Colorado last year and my kids insisted on coming back. To make the most of it make sure you get into the theme by bringing costumes and cabin decorations. And bring lots of wine.

Senior Camp 2008 was the best ever! I have attended four years in a row. With Tim as the camp director, and Kim as the Senior Camp leader, the camp was better than ever. The food and the service this year was far above the previous years. Tim has really cleaned the camp up and instilled enthusiasm in the staff. The activities were really great - crafts, hikes, variety show, pajama breakfast, and great friends.

Last year was my 29th straight year i have stayed at Camp Sacramento. I started going when my youngest was 7 months old. My wife loved it because she didnt have to do any cooking and could relax for a whole week. The activities for the kids are well organized and it gives the parents time to relax. We do not have to plan meals. It is already set up for you in the cafeteria. I will be staying there again every year until i cant get up the hill anymore. My wife passed away eleven years ago but i still go. I have friends tha ti see every year, sometimes it is the only time we get together.

For 2007, Camp Sac has a new director- Way to Go Tim!! For anyone who visited the past three years (2004 - 2006), rest assured! The staff was fun, attentive and enthusiastic. Not one apathetic counselor in camp! And- Cody is back as Rec Leader :-)!! You- and your kids- will have a great time. Organized activities for the entire family (by age group- minnows 3-5, chipmunks 6-9, marmots 10-12, teens & adults) include archery, tie-dye, hiking, crafts, volleyball, indoor rock climbing, t-ball, baseball & more. Campwide scavenger hunt, social hour, bingo, pajama breakfast, bar-b-que, nightly campfire (s'mores anyone?) and closing theme party (Kids had a blast- hula hoop contest always fun and Justin was a great DJ) The food- while still not gourmet- was good and plentiful. We even had made-to-order omelets on the last day! For anyone not interested in the 'main menu', there is always cereal, yogurt, fruit, pb&j, a salad bar & soups. You won't go hungry. For you caffeine nuts, you can even get espressos in the snack bar! Otherwise, coffee & cocoa are available anytime in the dining hall. Go- It'll be fun. We did- & we signed up for next summer too!
