In the relative scheme of things, comparing one beach to another, Lido Key Beach isn't as popular as Siesta Key Beach but it is viewed as a more private stretch of sand for the tourists who come from around the world to visit the Sarasota, Florida, area. Located at 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive on the barrier island of Lido Key, off the coast of Sarasota, it is connected to the mainland by the John Ringling Causeway. To the north is Longboat Key, to the east is luxurious Bird Key and St. Armands Key and to the south is Siesta Key. Like all of the barrier islands, Lido Key is well developed with a wide variety of luxury hotels and beach houses and a vibrant nightlife scene. On July 4, it is host to the annual boat races that attract thousands of visitors.

Free parking and easy access to the beach. Plenty of little shells to search through and space to set up chairs, umbrellas, etc. Beach was clean and has life guard stations. Close to cute shopping area with a variety of restaurants as well (St. Armands Circle). Perfect for laid back beach day.

Lido Key town beach is awesome! Small waves, clean water with no seaweed and great for shell picking (walk all the way down to the left). The public bathrooms here are fairly clean, there is a concession stand to buy food and a separate bar area to purchase cocktails. You can also rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The few times I’ve been here, there was either a DJ spinning tunes or someone playing a guitar. There is plenty of parking, but if you’re in the downtown Sarasota area, you can easily take the free trolley to this town beach. Stay late and watch the sunset, it is beautiful!

Awesome beach plenty of parking and nice sand. The parking was cheap too. It was probably a 50-150ft walk to get to a good spot.

Nice Beach, Quiet Mood, Delicious Sea with a little very small waves. Very close to St Armands circle as if for lunch after relaxing in the sea.

I have been here many times, it is my go-to white sand gulf beach. Love all the shells and the ambience. It is crowded during the in-season, but not nearly jammed up like Siesta Key, and there is usually ample free parking, especially on the far south end. Shopping at Armand's Circle is fun if you get rained out, albeit a bit expensive. Love Sarasota and love Lido Key!!

🏖️ Stopped for another day at the beach. 👉 Lido is our favorite beach ahead of any on Anna Maria Island. If you’re in the Bradenton/Sarasota areas this is a great choice. 👉 The area just off of Armand’s Circle has great sugar sand. The Hurricanes did disturb the beach some, but it’s still a great place to visit. This area does not have restrooms but there are showers for cleaning off the salt and sand. 👉 Travel further south (.5 mile) and you will get restrooms, a bar, restaurant and pool. More parking in this area as well. The sand isn’t as soft in all areas here but it is the closer you get to the water. 👉 Travel further south you will be in the resorts area. 👉 The water is great in all the aforementioned areas. Great beach one of the best. Tip 1️⃣ Remember that the summer months are the raining season and you could get some downpours, but they don’t normally last long. Tip 2️⃣ Bring a change of clothes and visit Armand’s Circle. Lots of restaurants and shopping.
