The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are a queer charity and street-performance order, founded in San Francisco in 1979, whose members appear in white-faced nun drag. The Seattle house, the Abbey of St. Joan, raises money for local LGBTQ+ and HIV causes. It also shows up at Pride and community events and does safer-sex outreach. (The old listing's description of them as women in a religious order is wrong.)
