Lodge On The Desert

I had to change rooms because the WiFi doesn’t work if you go too far from the lobby. I’m not kidding… I literally saw the WiFi signal on my phone deplete and disappear as I walked from the lobby to my first room. I switched rooms to something closer to the lobby because my plan was to work in this hotel during my stay. The WiFi didn’t reach my new room either. I was told “we have WiFi problems when the weather is bad” folks, it was June 15 and June 16, 2026. You go look up the weather that day and tell me if that was the lamest excuse ever… I’m not blind or stupid, I mean... It just doesn’t make sense… a light rain in June ruins your WiFi for a week? Then INVEST IN BETTER WIFI for your guests for God’s sake. Pathetic! The WiFi incident alone merits the one-star review of this place in my opinion, even if the hotel had been half the price. Aside from an absolutely, 100% essential amenity being unacceptably absent from this hotel, the stay here was alright. I loved the landscaping. I will never step foot in this hotel again, though, and I’ll advise people against throwing their money away any chance I get, because I feel like I vastly overpaid for the promise of something that wasn’t delivered. The price is too high and the WiFi doesn’t work!

A favorite stay in Tucson. Friendly and professional staff runs the lodge with predictable high mark outcome. The pool, restaurant and room service, all excellent. Safe parking on the premises, quiet rooms. Pamper yourself! Plan a stay!

Staying at Lodge on the Desert was a truly unique experience—unlike any typical hotel stay. The setting, atmosphere, and overall design make it feel special and memorable, with a charm that really stands out from standard accommodations. While the answering service was frustrating and difficult to get through, I ended up booking through a third-party website without much trouble, and I’m glad I did. Once I arrived, the experience completely made up for that initial inconvenience. The property itself is incredible—peaceful, well-kept, and full of character. If you’re looking for something different from the usual hotel experience, this is absolutely worth it. Despite the hiccup with communication, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

​As regular guests who stay at the Lodge on the Desert whenever we visit family in Tucson, we are incredibly disappointed to see the property progressively declining. Our recent multi-night stay highlighted some serious service and maintenance issues.​Upon arrival, our room was only supplied with two washcloths. When I tried to call housekeeping, the in-room phone housekeeping feature was non-operational. I walked to the front desk to politely request more, only to be met with attitude. The agent balked at the request and actually lectured me on why I should reuse dirty washcloths for the remainder of our stay.​The lack of upkeep across the property was also highly noticeable. The pool area—especially around the hot tub—was filthy, lobby trash cans were overflowing, and the exterior staircase leading to our room was so badly damaged it felt structurally unsafe to walk on. To top it off, the buffet breakfast is no longer included in the stay.​It’s disheartening to see a place we used to rely on fall into such disrepair. We likely won't be returning.

Very polite and kind amazing service

Stayed in room 162 last night. This is a staycation for me and my wife. We don’t treat ourselves often, as we were both excited to get some alone time and relax. Rooms are big and it was nice but we upgraded for the jetted tub which had hair all in it. It wasn’t cleaned cause no way that is missed. The bathroom sink wasn’t wiped down either. They came and cleaned it but at this point it was ruined and I was grossed out. I’d love for a refund or credit and to try this again. This issue does seem out of the ordinary. It was easier to not make any more fuss to the front desk and just get up and leave early.
