Pleasantly surprised when looking for a quick overnight stay

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Cleanliness Standards A very poor first impression overshadowed our stay. Despite arriving after the official check-in time, we entered a room that was in complete disarray, with used bags and towels scattered about—including a puke towel on the bathroom floor. Even after leaving for several hours to allow for a cleaning, the standard remained unacceptable. We discovered hair on the bathroom walls and prominent makeup stains on the bedroom pillows. There wasn't even a bed protector on the mattress. Had we been informed of a delay in check-in, the situation could have been handled with more grace. As it stands, the lack of hygiene and professional oversight is unacceptable for the price paid. I cannot recommend Neighbourgood based on this experience.

We had a great experience with a group booking here. While the units aren't "flashy," they are clean, comfortable, and brilliantly located for exploring Franschhoek. Being so close to the wine tram terminal and local shops was a major plus as we could walk everywhere within a few minutes. The layout is practical, with a full fridge and living area in each unit, but the real winner is the accessibility: the car park is literally two steps from your living room door. It made our logistics seamless. If you're looking for a central, hassle-free spot to crash between vineyard tours, this is it!

Friendly check in staff, rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. It was right opposite the Wine Tram stop. Fantastic little bakery right next door called MotherDough - great coffee and sandwiches and bakery goods.

I was supposed to stay here for two nights with my boyfriend, but after the first night, we already packed our bags to leave. We slept terribly due to the enormous noise disturbance. It is very noisy. Additionally, the accommodation was not very hygienic… The service is very impersonal. This is the first (of many) accommodations where we have experienced this during our trip in South Africa. You arrive and there is simply no one to greet you or welcome you. Absolutely nothing. The same applies to checking out. Given how dissatisfied we were, we sent a message to the host via Booking and let them know that we simply couldn't handle another night. She responded that we could request a refund via Booking. Unfortunately, Booking informed us that they had submitted a refund request to Neighbourgood, but that this was rejected by them. For this reason, we tried to contact the host again, but unfortunately, they are no longer responding to anything. They take absolutely no responsibility, and we had expected, at the very least, to get the money back for the one night we stayed here.

A very nice. We did not expect it so spaces. All is here in the Kitchen. Even to cook. Service we did not use any service. So near the centre if you like walking after the dinner. The only thing we missed in the bathroom were hooks to hang a towel and a bench or similar to put your fresh clothing. We'll come again.

This is very good value for money. Conveniently located in Franschhoek and only a short walk to the tramstop. The staff are very sweet and helpful. The room is simple, but comfortable. We really liked the set up - you enter through a locked door from the street and then the rooms are arranged on either side of a short straight corridor. Very secure and convenient. There is parking right by the front door. Very good water pressure in the shower. But no shower gel or shampoo, so bring your own (not a criticism, this is to be expected in this price range, just a heads up to other visitors)

We arrived at The Neighbourgood in Franschoek and met Felita, she was so helpful and friendly she showed us the room and we were thrilled with the space and comfort of the bed as well as the pressure of the shower. We will definitely come back. 10/10 hospitality
