4.5 ill say. i havent tried many cheap hostels but this isnt bad. very lively and seems to be quite popular. in a great location only about 1km from main areas in cbd like world square/chinatown and surry hills. walking distance from central train station. shower and toilet as ensuite in rooms and clean bunk beds. also more showers and toilets in the lobby area. do prefer the other showers as its more spacious whereas the ensuite shower is smaller and awkwardly shaped. only slight flaw is fitted sheet not placed on beds so u have to do it yourself as well as no privacy screen like window curtain (obviously as its a bunk bed). as well as mostly ensuite showers changing temp from really hot to really cold, frequently. might have just been busy with other people using the water at that time. love the key system where u use the goki app and the use of automatic self check in and door locking systems. good use of technology.
