The Bank

The Bank is a staple in Newtown. But $18 for a mediocre Aperol Spritz that comes out of a tap (seriously! premixed from a tap!) in a glass mostly full of ice is easily the WORST value AS I have ever come across & I have had this Italian classic all over Italy from Sicily to the Alps. Nope. Nope. Nope! Ripoff!

We were in a group of 20 ranging in ages from 1 to 70 having a lunch birthday celebration. All left happy. We had a couple of large tables to the left of the bar and everyone enjoyed themelves. Good quality pub food, enough space for everyone to talk, and great service from the friendly and helpful staff.

Best prawn pappardella I have ever had. Amazing. Three trips to Italy and this beats any pasta dish I have eaten. Great staff and vibe.

Graduation night has been made extra special with the lovely staff (shout out to Drue) who helped us all celebrate🥂. Can’t forget the delicious food and lively atmosphere here that put the cherry on top. Been here many times and for sure won’t be the last.

Nice food, quick service and very friendly staff

We went to the Bank Hotel on a Wednesday night and had such a great experience with Charlie behind the bar. My girlfriend and I were really impressed. he was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel completely comfortable straight away. He handled everything so well, had great energy, and just genuinely knew how to read the room and look after people. Would definitely come back — and would love to see him working more nights!

Aperol spritz coming from a tap shouldn’t cost $18

We celebrated our cafe’s 5th birthday at the bank on Friday night and we had an amazing time. Great service, great food and Sarah especially was really helpful and accommodating to our group. Highly recommend and we would like to thank all of you. From all the team at Small Talk Waterloo.

The food tastes great but it’s now extremely expensive. $35 for a rump steak. And $54 for a scotch fillet. That’s a bit steep for pub food.

The bank has always been a great longstanding local pub but I came here for dinner with a friend and my dog mid week. I got the barramundi and charred greens and it was cooked well, really tasty and very well priced! Would definitely come back! My friend got the steak which he said was also nice but they overcooked it a little to what he asked for, still very edible. Staff are friendly and very welcoming, and I love how pet friendly it is!

Good place to go out for a drink in the evening weekends is good for party

My parents first met here 26 years ago, highly recommend (I was born). Five stars
