Kings Park (Beat)

Kings Park, the huge bushland reserve overlooking the city, is one of Perth's oldest and best-known outdoor gay "beats" (the Australian term for a cruising area). Activity has traditionally centred on the bush paths on the north-western side near the Lovekin Drive car park, after dusk. By day it's an ordinary, very busy public park with war memorials, botanic gardens and lookouts, so ordinary discretion applies after dark. Consensual adult activity is not policed the way it once was, but use standard nighttime caution in an unlit reserve and respect other park users.
