You gotta think twice before living your room since the common areas are pretty cold, especially the kitchen. However, wonderful staff.

I used this when visiting a friend nearby. There's parking nearby for around 600 to 800 yen a day, it's close to the bus stop, and the subway is also nearby, so it was convenient. There are also several convenience stores nearby, which was helpful. It was easy to go out for drinks in Sakae because the bus stop is nearby. The room was simple and nice. The staff were also friendly.

We stayed in a private room for two people. It was a shared room, but there was a unit bath available. Overall, I think this hostel is good enough if you just want a cheap place to sleep.

The accommodation is a bit out of the way but very clean with good common areas, a kitchen, and a TV with Netflix. We're deducting one star for the excessive noise from other guests, which is apparently permitted with access to the rooftop at all hours of the night. However, the value for money is excellent, as the accommodation is inexpensive for Japan.

It's far from the station, so it's better to take the bus. A taxi cost 1400 yen. The hostel is clean and comfortable, but the walls are thin, so I couldn't sleep because I could hear noises and snoring in the morning and at night.

Since it's self-check-in, you don't have to worry even if you're running late. All the staff are very nice. The building is old, but it's generally clean. The bathroom is clean and the bathtub is large.

Despite making a reservation, completing payment, and receiving a confirmation email, the reservation was suddenly canceled, and no refund was given. I tried calling several times at different times, but they didn't answer. This is the worst.

A bit far from the nearest station (Taikodori), around a 15 minutes walk. However, the hostel is very good for its price. I paid around 4000¥ for a twin room (single use), which is an unbeatable price point in my opinion. The staff is very nice and speaks good English. The showers are only on the ground floor, but toilets and sinks on every floor. There's also a kitchen and a fridge

I really liked the neighborhood, very local. And super easy to get to from Nagoya Station. There's a nice common area and kitchen. There's a living room with a TV, Netflix, and Super Nintendo! I was alone and slept in a double bed, and I could have used a double blanket; otherwise, I think I would have been cold. They have air conditioning but no heating for fall/winter. The room isn't nice, but it's adequate. It's a relaxing place.

The bed didn't seem to be clean. There was no response to my private messages, so I just went to sleep.

The location is out of the way, and the cleanliness is okay but could be better. I would have preferred a more central location. But I was also in Nagoya for too long. Two nights are enough.

I was looking for cheap accommodation in Aichi Prefecture. I found a place to stay near Taikodori Station for 2300 yen (2500 yen on the official website) for a multi-person room. It's in a fantastic location, less than 2km from Nagoya Station, easily within walking distance. I booked it immediately. Since check-in was after 9 PM, there was no receptionist, but I was able to enter using the password I received via email (there was a slight delay before I could enter the password, and the unique operation was a bit confusing at first). The first floor is a shared space with a kitchen, refrigerator, TV, and manga comics. Perhaps it was originally a ryokan (Japanese inn) or something similar before being converted into a hotel? Many of the guests seemed to be long-term international visitors. The shared space also had a water dispenser and free instant coffee and tea. There's also one shower with a bathroom and one shower. There seems to be one toilet on the first floor and one on the second floor. Luggage can be stored in lockers with locks. Even large handbags should fit. My handbag was quite large, but I managed to fit it in, albeit with a bit of a squeeze. Shampoo and body soap were provided in the shower. Towels are available for rent (100 yen), so don't worry if you forget yours. I was surprised there was no hairdryer, but after searching on the first floor, I found one in the shower room with a bathroom. This might be confusing at first. The relaxation area is very comfortable. There's a TV, and for some reason, a New Super Famicom (I think). I wondered if the many international guests would enjoy it, but action, shooting, and fighting games like Donkey Kong and Mario Kart are perfectly playable. It's sure to be a lot of fun. You can also cook in the shared kitchen. This is great for long-term stays. There was a sign asking you to write your name on the refrigerator, but honestly, if something gets stolen, it's your own responsibility, so it's probably best not to use it if you can avoid it. The common area had one or two 100V power outlets, I think? You can charge your phone there. They had manga like: Demon Slayer (up to volume 22 for some reason), Dragon Ball Complete Edition, Conan, Hikaru no Go, etc. This was a pleasant surprise. I wish I had more time to read them. The room was quite dark and I couldn't see inside very well because it was past 10 PM and we were asked to be quiet, but the bed was quite spacious. There were also three 100V outlets. This was great because I could charge my phone, a portable fan, and a game console. The bed creaked quite a bit when I got up, and since it's a shared room, you might be bothered by people using desk lamps or snoring. I was able to sleep, but I think you should bring earplugs and an eye mask. That's probably the only thing that bothered me. Otherwise, it was clean and well-maintained. It was a weekday, but it only cost 2300 yen per night. For me, the cost was almost the same as the round-trip transportation fee between my home and my destination, so it was incredibly good. I was worried about whether I'd be able to sleep, but it was much easier than commuting from home. Check-out is until 11am, so if you have time, you can relax, read a manga, and have some tea or coffee before leaving. If you like shared house-style accommodations, I recommend it. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.
