Ōban Kaikan Asakusa

Ōban Kaikan Asakusa (大番会館 浅草店, often called Asakusa Ōban) is a long-running gay sauna at 2-9-14 Asakusa, Taito-ku, a few streets from Sensō-ji and from 24 Kaikan Asakusa. Japanese guides published in 2026 list it as open 24 hours with no closing day. There is no official website; phone 03-3841-6222. The building has reception on 1F, lockers and a lounge on 2F, the large bath and sauna on 3F, mix rooms on 4F and 5F, and paid private rooms on 6F. Gowns are lent and there is a tanning room. Reported prices are about ¥2,000-2,400 for bath entry and ¥2,500-2,700 including an overnight stay, with 6F private rooms from about ¥700 extra. Japanese writers warn that prices may have risen and that late-night surcharges have been reported, so confirm at the door and bring cash. The crowd is mostly men in their 40s to 60s, often heavier-built, though salarymen and muscular types also come; there are no age or body-type limits. It is busiest from Saturday afternoon into the evening and quiet on weekday nights. A 'members only' (会員制) sign hangs at the entrance, but walk-in visitors are admitted; staff speak little English. House rules: wear a gown or towel outside the bath, keep sexual contact to the mix and private rooms (not the bath floor, locker room, showers or toilets), no play or nudity on the roof, which is visible from outside, and no photos. There are no shower-hose facilities. Google reviews average about 3.2, with complaints mostly about cleanliness.
