Hotel Adria

Avoid this hotel – not worthy of its 4-star rating. Our stay at Hotel Adria in Dubrovnik was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend it. One of the biggest frustrations was the food and bar policy. The bar food service finishes at 7:00 pm, and after that you cannot order room service and enjoy it in the bar lounge, even if you are purchasing drinks from the bar. You are also not allowed to buy dinner from the hotel's own restaurant and eat it in the lounge area. We had spent the day at the beach and simply wanted to return to the hotel, relax, watch the World Cup on the only available TV in the bar, order drinks, and have something to eat. Instead, reception informed us that no food was permitted in the lounge area, including food purchased from the hotel itself. This policy made no sense and completely spoiled what should have been a relaxing evening. The room itself was also disappointing. The television is 24" very small for a hotel advertised as 4 stars. The curtains had holes in them, the towels had visible stains, and even the pillows had stains. There's no standard black tea when we asked the reception they advised you only get one mint & one fruit flavoured tea. In addition, the lighting in the room kept flickering, which was both irritating and gave the impression that the room was not being properly maintained. Overall, this hotel did not meet the standard I would expect from a 4-star property. There are far better hotels in Dubrovnik that offer better value, better service, and better facilities. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
Hotel located high above the city, very beautiful view. Two very pleasant swimming pools.
The hotel is great! It's a 10-minute walk or 400 steps from the port. There's a staircase to the left of the hotel that leads directly there, or you can take bus number 3, which goes up to the hotel. The bus fare is €2.50. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the air conditioning is fantastic, and the views are breathtaking. There's an indoor and an outdoor pool; both are cold, but they're fine for cooling off. There's also a poolside bar. The breakfast is very complete, with filter coffee and pancakes that are made automatically. We opted for half-board, which included dinner, and I thought it was excellent. We stayed four nights, and the food was different every day. The vegetables are from their own garden, so everything is delicious. The desserts are also tasty, which is rare to find at a buffet.
Very pleasant hotel with an even nicer pool. Beautiful spacious rooms, good bed. Breakfast was fine. Not cheap, but everything is a bit too expensive there. It is a long walk to the old town, though. Fortunately, there is Uber.
