Thon Hotel Cecil

Sweet room in Central Oslo with easy access to transportation to anywhere you want to visit in Oslo. Clean, though "compact" room, with in-room coffee/tea, & a complete breakfast was included. Also a nice, tasty, light evening meal on weekdays. Staff all great, helpful, friendly, & excellent English. A very pleasant, peaceful lounge on the 7th floor, surrounded by windows overlooking the city, was appreciated (also with complementary coffee/tea & light snacks. Only hitch was heat control - very warm in room, reset thermostat cooler, but temp never dropped.

Great hotel right downtown. The staff was all very helpful and friendly and hotel quiet with nice amenities. Actually made up of two interconnected buildings, I stayed in the one above an office complex. The breakfasts were fantastic and lounge overlooking Stortinget was a great place to relax after a long day. The hotel is centrally located to both the national theater (airport train) and Stortinget subway stations. The only thing I didn't love was that the lock to my room door was finicky and sometimes wouldn't lock while I was trying to leave the room.

Excellent hotel, quiet but very central! I had room on 7th floor facing inside but it was perfect since I prefer quiet room. Bf was great and location is unbeatable! Highly recommend to everyone:)

First time in Oslo and wasn’t sure where to stay so picked this hotel due to location. Rooms are very clean and it’s easy to walk to the main attractions which Oslo has to offer. Breakfast is included which has a wide variety of food to choose from and staff are very friendly. Only downside to the hotel is that it is in two parts so if you stay in the newer part you have to change lifts on the second floor. The room is quite noisy at night however imagine this is the same everywhere.

My room was very nice, nothing exceptional. What was exceptional was everything else. The staff was fantastic, the breakfast was outstanding, and the location was unbeatable. So much of the city was within walking distance! What a wonderful city!
