Praia Maria Luísa

Praia Maria Luísa is a small, sheltered cove just east of Albufeira's old town, beyond Praia da Oura and the Santa Eulália stretch. Reached by a cliff path and steps, it is the beach most often flagged by gay travel guides as Albufeira's informal gay- and nudist-friendly spot — quieter and more secluded than the busy main resort beaches. Facilities are limited, so bring water and shade. It is not an official naturist beach, so discretion is sensible; the recognised regional naturist beaches lie a short drive away.
