Bar 69 has been doing drag on Plaza de la Constitucion longer than almost anyone in town, and its own slogan - cocktails, chaos and confidence - is an honest trade description. This is old-school Benidorm cabaret: big wigs, sharp tongues and a room that gets involved. Unusually for the village, the doors open at 11am, so it doubles as a daytime terrace bar on the square before transforming into a show venue at night. The plaza location means you can watch the whole gay quarter drift past your table. It sits at the meeting point of the village triangle, seconds from Calle Santa Faz and Calle Alacant, which makes it one of the easiest places in town to start - or completely derail - an evening.
