Chateau de Labessiere

Marie José and René have beautifully restored the Château de Labessiere and are very pleasant hosts. The room is spacious, warm, and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are excellent!

Very cute Chateau which was built in the 1700’s . We stayed in the parc room; It was huge. The dinners were fabulous! Hosts were very cordial and we enjoyed getting to know them. They were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions too. Definitely recommend staying here.

An exceptional accommodation near Verdun, easily accessible by car. The chateau has been extensively restored – the rooms are truly remarkable and the dinner is superb.

We stayed one night with half-board at the "Chambre Bleu." The owners take wonderful care of their guests with a warm and personal touch. The cuisine is exquisite! The pool is heated and covered – a swim in the park in the evening sun was the perfect finishing touch to our short stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated down to the last detail.

We spent two nights with friends and received a very warm welcome from Marie-José and René. They are incredibly attentive to their guests. The rooms are spacious and functional. The meals are excellent, on par with a Michelin-starred chef. Everything was more than perfect, thank you both and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We spent three nights at this guesthouse where we received a warm welcome and enjoyed a huge, comfortable room, fit for a king. The breakfasts are superb, offering both savory and sweet options with local products (cheeses and cured meats), homemade jams, and all sorts of other treats. The meals are truly on par with a gourmet restaurant. The swimming pool is a bonus. We highly recommend this place, located in the heart of the countryside and therefore very peaceful. Thank you to our hosts for taking such good care of us.

We spent three nights at the Château de Labessières in a spacious and quiet room. We received a very warm welcome. René, a history enthusiast, gave us excellent advice for our visits in the Meuse region. Marie José spoiled us with her delicious gourmet meals and generous breakfasts. An absolutely wonderful stay! We have stayed in dozens of Chambres/Tables d'Hotes over the years and Chateau de Labessiere is right up with the best of them. From the friendly, warm, welcome to the final farewell, we were made to feel completely at home. The house itself, restored by René from a near ruin, is beautiful; full of interesting furniture, pictures etc (ask about the Joan of Arc pictures...). The bedroom was huge and really comfortable, with the bonus of an outside terrace. The quality of the evening meals was extremely high, well up to "top" restaurant standards, and the breakfasts were really generous too. An added bonus was that René shares my interest in "classic" cars so we had a couple of interesting conversations on that subject. Highly recommended, and I hope we will return!

A lovely little castle, beautifully and lovingly restored. A very pretty room with comfortable bedding. A perfect meal and breakfast. Welcoming and attentive hosts. We highly recommend it. We'll come back if we're in the area again.

We stayed for one night on our way to Dusseldorf. It was a delightful experience and we very much recommended it. Our hosts were very gracious and welcoming. The food served was home cooked and absolutely delicious with 5 star presentation. The decor was in keeping with the traditional theme of the chateau and quite beautiful. A wonderful stay!
