Second Home Peru

We loved that place. Very unique. It's an old house, so do not expect high end rooms. But that makes the difference, or? We had two rooms, in one was the bathtub connected to a smaller bath with shower. Bedroom was quite big with comfortable bed and linen. The outside area is so beautiful! Breakfast was simple, choice of eggs and some marmalade. But the bread rolls were super yummy. The location is super, because in walking distance to very good restaurants. Also to explore the area around. Muchas Gracias.

Location for an excellent oceanfront view

Second Home Peru offers a STUNNING view of the ocean, air conditioning (which can be hard to come by in Peru) and is secure. Locks on rooms are functional in the door and balcony and there is a gate to even enter the lobby. The art and artist featured are a unique add and feature of the stay. Really special to see so many different Delfín pieces. Despite these features I would not stay again here. I did not find the rooms clean or well kept. There were ants and cockroaches in both rooms. Sheets, shower curtain and linens had visible stains and were never changed for 3 nights. In fact, our room was left completely untouched the last night of our stay no towels, no bed made no trash out. The shower was such a challenge as the shower head had no pressure and was barely functional. The rooms are BARE. No fridge, no water provided no decoration. Very poorly maintained and dirty. We did not find the staff pleasant or friendly. One of the nights we stayed the fire alarm went off for around 30 minutes at full blast at 3am. While accidents happen, the alarm was not addressed by staff for 15-20 minutes and then as guests were standing in the lawn we were all accused of smoking inside and sniffed as we returned to our rooms. No offer of compensation or explanation just continued accusations of in room smoking the next morning. There are some perks here and I imagine other places with an ocean view in Lima may be twice the price but after staying here for 3 nights we wouldn’t be back or ever recommend.

Wonderful hotel in great location. Loved the decor and artwork and very comfortable room. Breakfast was fine on the lovely terrace. Enough room for two people but the bathroom lacks some privacy. Also could have been more space for clothes. We would happily return.

STAY AWAY. They lie and if you read the other low reviews you will see they have cheated many out of money. They said they had a room for us and didn’t hold it so after two hours very uncomfortably waiting for it to be ready they said someone else had reserved it. I was trying to be kind and pay for it directly and got screwed. Avoid them please. Also the place is just OK nice In response to your response - you quoted a rate then changed it- that’s not cool ever. I was quiet and exhausted and not rude. I explained it is not acceptable with guests to not keep your word. It’s a matter of doing business fairly. The whole place depends on your energy and this sort of thing makes it bad. Others- check Airbnb and other neighboring hotels for more professionalism and kindness :) it’s there!! Also hotels should not be defensive and the “facts” were purely subjective. You changed rates three times including on booking once I mentioned it was lower. Those are facts.

Heaven on Earth. My 2 girlfriends and I are staying here for a vacation for 6 days. We cannot say enough amazing things about the Staff, the bohemian vibes and view. Everyone is incredibly helpful and kind. Highly recommend asking for a tour of Victor Delfìn’s artwork. THANK YOU SECOND HOME!!!

TERRIBLE PLACE. I knocked on the door and was met with a rude, dismissive response. I waited, and then a man opened the door for other people who arrived after me. He was wearing glasses, out of shape, poorly presented, and extremely rude. I left immediately.
