The Grand Residence Hotel Tenjin

First of all, I liked that the room was more spacious than most accommodations in Japan. Towels are not provided daily, and cleaning is also not done regularly, so we brought our own towels. Despite that, the room was spacious, and it was great that it only took about 10 minutes to get to Carol City and 10 minutes to get to Don Quijote. I think I would stay here again if I came back. I also liked that the response was quick when I inquired via email.

The rooms are wonderful, but I hope for improvements in handling issues with the unmanned check-in process. Although it was partly my oversight, this is an unmanned hotel without a front desk. Since there's no dedicated parking, I tried to check in while my companion watched the rental car, but no matter how many times I entered the QR code and reservation number I received, I kept getting an error saying "no reservation found," which made me very anxious. The reservation was definitely complete on the booking site (Yahoo! Travel). With the rental car return time approaching, I was stuck parked on the street for several minutes, completely at a loss. Because I was so anxious, I didn't notice the phone number on the booking site, and my only hope was the "smartphone chat inquiry" posted on the wall. While the chat response itself was quick, initially there was no explanation or apology; only a new reservation number was sent. Feeling this was truly dishonest, I protested strongly, and finally received a direct apology by phone. [Request to the Hotel] Relying solely on chat support during problems is extremely worrying. I believe the wall sign should clearly display not only the chat option but also an "emergency phone number." [About the Room] Although we encountered some trouble during check-in, the room itself was very clean and we were very satisfied. There were two large double beds and a large TV, allowing us to relax comfortably in a spacious room. If the process for handling system problems were smoother, I think this would be a very good hotel. For those planning to stay here, I recommend checking contact information in advance.

This was the worst service I've ever experienced at a hotel. It felt like an apartment. The room number was just a label made with a label maker and stuck on. Lol. It was incredibly expensive despite being extremely small. There was no front desk. Check-in was done by machine, but they didn't even send me the QR code needed for check-in. It was supposed to be an automatic lock, but the lock wouldn't close. I had to call the hotel and they fixed it while I was out. I stayed for several nights, but there was no cleaning, towel and amenity replacement. I paid the same amount for multiple nights. That's ridiculous. Towel replacement was an extra charge. And yet there was no discount for staying for multiple nights. The shower holder looked like it was about to fall off. The washing machine drum was so clogged with garbage after just one wash that it wouldn't drain and kept showing an error. The toilet smelled of drainage. The location was okay, I think. The amenities were just a toothbrush, one single-use packet of laundry detergent, hand soap, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There were a lot of foreign (Korean and Chinese) tourists. Everyone who came in seemed like that. There's a smoking area at the front desk entrance, so non-smokers have to walk through the smell to enter the hotel. It was the worst. It was just awful. What a disappointment on what was supposed to be a trip. I wonder what criteria those people who gave it 5 stars have? I would never go back. I wouldn't recommend it either.

I believe this is the best value accommodation in Fukuoka. For check-in, you will receive an email before your trip asking you to enter your pre-check-in information. If you simply fill in your passport details and the number of guests, the check-in process is completed quickly, taking only 1 to 2 minutes. We stayed for one night in the largest room for a total of 6 people (4 adults and 2 children), located on the top floor, the 15th floor. The room had two bedrooms and a total of 5 beds, and it was perfect with a sofa, dining table, and kitchen. The bathroom had a heating system, which was great for washing the children in a warm environment. There were plenty of towels, and although we didn't use it, a washing machine was also provided. (The bathroom's heating system seems useful as it can also be used to dry clothes.) High-end appliances such as a hairdryer, microwave, electric kettle, and Bluetooth speaker were all provided, making the experience quite satisfying in terms of atmosphere as well. (I was surprised to find out that the hairdryer looked so nice that I looked it up and found it cost around 500,000 won...) The location is also not bad. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway. Don Quijote is just a 10-minute walk away, and downtown Tenjin is easily accessible within about 20 minutes on foot. On nice days, it would be great to rent a bike and explore. There is no dedicated parking space, so you will need to park in an empty paid parking lot nearby. Anyway, we had a happy and comfortable stay during our family trip.

The accommodation where I stayed for 3 nights last week. The advantage is that it is spacious compared to standard hotels. It was a room with two double beds, and there was decent space to unpack my luggage. However, there was no table or dining table, so it was inconvenient to eat simple meals, and there were not enough towels considering the number of guests and the length of my stay. The bedding did not feel particularly clean. It was convenient to walk to and from Tenjin, Canal City, and Hakata. If you enjoy walking, the location seems good. I was worried about the self-check-in, but I was able to check in without any difficulty.

Overall, the facilities and atmosphere are all really great. Since it is unmanned, you need to read the instructions carefully before entering!

The view is nice. I stayed here for 10** years, and the transportation is convenient. The breakfast buffet is decent, and there is a GS convenience store at the hotel entrance, so I bought beer and drinks there.

AVOID!!! We booked through Booking.com to have a kitchen and laundry. When we arrived, the room was in terrible condition, with a torn sofa, dirty floors, and damaged furniture... a real disaster. Given the state of the room, we left and asked for a refund, but they denied it, especially because it looked like a completely different room compared to the photos on Booking.com. I'd say their lack of professionalism speaks for itself. The location isn't the best either. I strongly advise against it.

I don't think it's right to give us a room with only three beds when there are four of us.

This was my third stay. As usual, I saw some people confused by the check-in process, but if you register in advance using the URL sent by the hotel, it takes less than 10 seconds. There's a smoking area next to the check-in lobby, so the smell is a bit bothersome.
