Barn Laos Hostel

Liked · I like the vibe, decoration, price, and cleanliness a lot. The place is located in a good area where there are a lot of places to go around its neighborhood. Disliked · The problem is only with the check-in that we booked the room for 6 people and then we got a separate room, we expected to stay in the same room.

Great hostel with very friendly staff. It is very quiet and more of a mature hostel. Not a lot of young people. The place has a nice area to work, read and chill. They helped us with laundry and getting a taxi to the airport. If you need to leave early make sure to let them know and the close the gate at night. Walking distance from the food night market.

Great for our short term stay! We stayed in the private double room and would come back again. Pros: Very friendly staff, easy check in. Nice common area with air conditioning. Free breakfast is very nice. Nice location, not too far from major attractions, 15-20min walks. Room and linens were clean. Bathroom and showers were clean. Great deal for airport transfer, especially if the ride is shared. Cons: A little loud, especially if staying in the private double room, which is beside the washroom so it's a high traffic area and you can hear the hair dryers. I didn't feel unsafe, but once in the middle of the night, there was someone who tried to open the doors to the room. They may have just been drunk and lost. Shared washroom area layout is very weird. You can see the men's urinals and shower doors open to walkway.

Pros: good location as it’s centrally located and close to the night market, sheets, blankets and toilets were clean. Free breakfast where one can cook eggs in their preferred way. Shampoo, handwash, hair dryer in the common bathroom, men and woman have separate toilets and showers although they are both in the same area. Bicycles available for rent, large common area. Free water refills. Very large locker in the room, can easily place a 65L backpack or a large trolley bag. No loud music and it’s located in a quiet neighbourhood. Cons: Rooms are small and congested, AC remains turned off during the day, not even a fan to cool down during these hours. However, this seems to be a very prevalent practice in many Laos hostels :/
