The Prince Albert

Lunch at the Prince Albert with friends, fish and chips, nachos, and seafood chowder and nibbles. Absolutely beautiful. Once again we were not disappointed. The staff welcoming, the atmosphere excellent. Special call out to Rodel the chef and his staff. Food 10/10.

Didn't stay -went for dinner

I stayed at this hostel for four nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During my stay, I was bitten by bed bugs and had quite a strong allergic reaction, which was really uncomfortable. On top of that, the door of my room broke and I ended up having to change rooms almost every night, which made the stay quite stressful and inconvenient. I do want to say that the staff were very helpful and tried their best to assist me during these issues, and I appreciated their kindness. However, the overall experience was still very unpleasant because of the bed bugs and the constant room changes. It’s unfortunate that all of this happened during my stay.

We went there for dinner and had an English roast with Yorkshire pudding and lamb shanks. The roast of the night was pork. The portions were huge and everything was so tasty! We were both really happy!! Definitely going back!!

Great Hostel! Very clean and comfortable rooms with lovely shared facilities including a courtyard with hammocks and a comfortable lounge. There is also a pub on premises which serves drinks and food all day till late. Very kind and accomodating staff as well, would definitely stay here again for the very reasonable price for a bunk room (cheapest in Nelson and I doubt many do as good of a job as these guys). Thanks!

Another great meal. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Very busy but service still great.

Had a nice stay here, rooms were clean and loved the outdoor social space. Kitchen was easy to use and parking was accessible. Location is nice, close to downtown and nature. Left my boots there and a lovely staff member Erin helped get them back to me!

We stayed there for one night on a roadtrip and had a very good experience.
