Excellent food and service. We had an amazing stay during 5 days and we will come back for sure Swimming pool area needs more attention and renovation. Massages provided are basics for the price. Thank you

We stopped for breakfast on the way to Blue Lagoon, and it was well worth the detour. The place is peaceful and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Tamanu on the Beach has a lot going for it. The resort itself is lovely, and the general staff are genuinely one of the highlights, warm, welcoming and attentive in a way that makes you feel at home. That friendliness goes a long way. That said, there are a few areas that need honest attention. The resort activities are quite limited. There are options available on the board, but they are not actively promoted or communicated to guests. For a resort at this price point, a more proactive approach to guest experiences would make a real difference. While Tamanu does accept children and has a kids club, families should be aware that the resort is not particularly well set up for younger guests in practice. The kids club activities are limited and the staff looking after children lack the experience you would hope for when entrusting them with your little ones. For a family-focused stay, this is an area that needs meaningful improvement. The pool area is another concern. It is simply not at the standard you would expect from a resort of this calibre and price, and it is in need of an urgent upgrade. For many guests the pool is a central part of the resort experience, and in its current state it falls short of what Tamanu should be offering. Speaking of price point, Tamanu is not cheap, and that raises expectations around consistency. Unfortunately, food quality and accuracy drops noticeably when the head chef is on leave, falling below what you would reasonably expect at this level. This is something that needs to be addressed, as it directly affects the overall guest experience. Finally, the access road to the resort is in very poor condition and genuinely needs urgent attention. For guests arriving after a long journey, it is not the introduction the resort deserves. We would return if these issues were addressed, because the foundations are there for something really special.

Can not recommend this resort highly enough! Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were beyond attentive and oh, so lovely. The food was so yummy, the drinks (cocktails) were divine. Again, I can not speak highly enough of this resort.

We had an exceptional stay at Tamanu on the Beach, and what truly elevated the experience was the people. Fiona has a great team from the gardener to the drivers, waitstaff, and management team, the hospitality was consistently warm, genuine, and effortless. It never felt staged or transactional — just authentic, kind service from people who genuinely care about your experience. The food was another standout. The starters and mains were consistently excellent — well-prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with attention to quality. I found the local beef and tuna to be hits!. The restaurant is on the beach so you have great views, they offer room service at no extra cost if you wish to eat in the villas. The location is a major strength. The beach feels almost private, which creates a sense of exclusivity and calm that’s hard to replicate. We were in the ocean two to three times a day — the water is beautiful, although there is coral, so bringing reef shoes is a smart move. My son really enjoyed the bon fire and the fire show! The spa experience was relaxing and well worth doing, especially if you’re leaning into a relaxing and more restorative style of holiday. One small practical tip: it’s worth bringing a few snacks with you, particularly if you like having options between meals. The hotel also did a great job organising experiences for us. The trips to the Blue Lagoon and Eton Beach were seamless and genuinely memorable, and the transfers into town made it easy to explore without any stress. Vanuatu itself is stunning — the natural beauty, beaches, and water are world-class. That said, it’s important to set expectations correctly. This is not the Maldives or Seychelles in terms of polished, ultra-luxury service infrastructure. What you get instead is something arguably more valuable — genuine, happy people who go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxed, beautiful, and authentic island experience with great food and truly warm hospitality, Tamanu on the Beach delivers in a big way.

Beautiful spot to stay

Today we had lunch at the restaurant of Tamanu. It has been a while since we were there last. It was again a delicious experience. With great service. One of the waitresses we spoke with, remembered our last visit. The location is just perfect! A nice breeze and the contrast of the blue water and the white ex and interior can't be flawed. If you are looking for something amazing, this is the place to go to!

Great restaurant and location on the beach

While we weren't staying at the resort, we visited Tamanu On The Beach as part of a day excursion from our cruise ship, and the experience was truly exceptional. The property is remarkably serene, and the staff were incredibly hospitable from the moment we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed a lunch of fresh local seafood while dining directly on the shoreline; the excellent drinks and stunning oceanfront setting made for a highlight of our time in Port Vila. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful, high-quality meal in a beautiful tropical environment.

I cannot speak more highly of this place! Wonderful accommodation, beautiful location but most of all incredible service. Every single member of staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, a special mention for Alice and Isobel who made us feel like family! Thank you for a brilliant stay 😎
