Great people, great technology, great location!

Good Day Chief I visited your station on Hauptfeuerwache on August 15, 2024 and was met by Simon who was great at greeting my wife and I. Simon passed us along to Benjamin who was awesome at educating us on how your department works in Germany. 🇩🇪 Benjamin had to go on a fire call, which was awesome to observe and great to see crews in action. We then met with Troy who continued the tour to see your second level and cooking area. It was awesome to observe the cooks (something in my department we don’t have - we all share the job and have to drop what we do to go on emergencies. This occurs more in Chicago than in outlying areas of the large city by me). We then went to your office area met Andreas who was great at explaining how your responses for house fires and hi-rise fires 🔥 work. Although I identified some differences, it’s great to see the world’s fire service has a lot of commonality. I shared with Andreas my fire department website and the union website. I had to pull my wife away as it was nearing lunch time and I had to let her know you don’t keep a firefighter from getting the meal with the crew. I want to say your building impressed us with its history and was totally amazed at the young firefighters and attention to that history. From a retired battalion chief from USA 🇺🇸 and currently a part time deputy fire chief, I hope you enjoy the patches I shared with you. Incredibly friendly staff. My son and I visited Fire Station 1 today. A very friendly firefighter (short black hair, himself a dad) was so kind as to let us into the station without us even having to ask, which made my son incredibly happy. Many thanks again to the very friendly firefighter and Fire Station 1. A super cool organization.
