About this place Zur Feuerwache

Zur Feuerwache is a long-established gay bar in Munich, its look a tribute to its own history. Its name means "To the Fire Station," and that’s what it feels like: a relic. The walls and ceiling haven't changed much since the 1980s, when the place first opened. That means you get a distinctly vintage atmosphere, unpretentious and easygoing. Expect a relaxed, social crowd. Locals and visitors perch on bar stools, actually talking to each other. It’s smoker-friendly, and the drinks are cheap enough that you won't feel ripped off. Come for a quiet chat or to mingle. You’ll find Zur Feuerwache on Blumenstraße, in Munich's gay district. If you want a real feel for the city’s gay culture, and a place that isn't trying too hard, this is it.

I really wanted to visit this place, the oldest fire station in Munich. When we walked in, Matthias kindly welcomed us and showed us around the Munich Fire Station, explaining everything. We also received an in-depth explanation of the German firefighting system in general. Thanks to him, the visit to the Munich Fire Station was the most heart-pounding and exciting moment of this trip. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Matthias once again. I wish you a long and safe career.

A truly wonderful fire station with fantastic colleagues! It was very exciting to get a spontaneous glimpse behind the scenes. The firefighters were happy to take the time for my visit. The best part was how friendly and open they were to my interest and the visit. Thank you so much for the great public relations work and the very pleasant insight.

We only wanted to look at the vehicles from the outside today, but we were greeted by incredibly friendly firefighters and even allowed into the vehicle bay. We were absolutely thrilled with everything. Thank you for everything!

This fire station is one of the oldest fire stations in Bavaria and is a listed building.
