About this place Café Glück

Café Glück (Café Luck/Happiness) is Munich's primary lesbian and queer women's venue — a café-bar format that operates from morning through the evening and serves as the community hub for Munich's lesbian scene. The Thalkirchner Straße location is at the southern end of the Glockenbachviertel, near Sendlinger Tor, putting it in the gay neighbourhood while maintaining its distinct identity. The format mirrors Café Gnosa in Hamburg: breakfasts, cakes, cocktails, and a social atmosphere that prioritises community over spectacle. Regular events include women's network evenings, book groups, feminist film screenings and occasional live performances. The outdoor seating in summer extends the café's social territory onto the pavement. For lesbian and queer women visitors to Munich, Café Glück is the essential starting point — the venue where you understand the social landscape before deciding where to go next.

A really nice cafe, you can sit comfortably both inside and outside. The drinks are highly recommended, and the service is very friendly and attentive. But what happened to the fries? They used to be incredibly delicious, fresh, and crispy... and now they're totally soggy and oily with no flavor. Please make the fries like they used to be... I'm only giving it four stars because I know how great your place usually is, but if it had been my first time there, I probably would have given it less.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Café Glück on two different occasions. The first time was for a birthday party, and then as a regular customer. I loved it! The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, and I always felt welcome, whether at the party or just as a guest a few days later. The food was delicious and prepared with so much love. The location is perfect because it's off the beaten track, allowing you to truly enjoy the ambiance. Inside, the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and inviting. I'm so glad I discovered this gem and will definitely be back often.

Super friendly staff, flexible even with a larger group at short notice. The food was delicious. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fair. We'll definitely be back!
