Drei Glocklein, or Three Bells, has been a fixture of Munich's gay scene since 1996.
You’ll find it on Hans Sachs Straße, a relaxed local bar and restaurant that feels completely unpretentious. Regulars love it, and visitors passing through Bavaria’s capital will too.
It's a traditional gay bar, which means a social vibe where people actually talk. The old-fashioned feel and friendly staff make it easy to meet others and get a sense of Munich's LGBTQ+ hospitality. This is a local hang-out, so you might even get some good tips for exploring the rest of the city’s scene.
Munich’s gay scene has new spots and old ones, and Drei Glocklein is definitely the latter—a place that's earned its reputation over nearly three decades through sheer consistency and genuine warmth. If you want a casual evening or to see a real local favorite, this is a good bet for tapping into Munich's gay culture.

Plenty of space. A slightly older clientele. Fast service. But the music is absolutely fantastic!
A very nice little pub right across from my apartment. Relaxed and full of friendly people. Far removed from the usual airs and kisses. Very rare in Munich. Definitely recommended for an authentic experience of honest, honest hospitality.
A cool, down-home bar in the Bermuda Triangle. Friendly service, reasonable prices, and the flirt factor for gay men is not to be underestimated.
Okay, a small, cozy pub, but not really a place to make friends.
