Really lovely hotel. Rooms were basic but clean and presentable. Staff couldn’t do enough to assist with whatever we asked. Although not in the centre, the bus route is excellent frequent and good value. Breakfast had a wonderful choice of fresh fruits / meats / cheeses and bread basket. Wonderful stay
We wanted to spend a day in Taormina, so we decided to stay here for one night. At €180 for a night in a 4-star hotel, we expected a certain level of comfort unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. To start with the positives: the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and the room itself was also clean. The location is okay not very close to the center (which has its pros and cons), but not ideal for going to the beach either due to a busy road and train tracks. Now for the downsides: the bed was hard, the pillows were flat, and the air conditioning barely worked. There were mosquitoes everywhere, and the bathroom could really use some renovation. The worst part was how noisy it was, we were woken up at 6 AM by loud footsteps and shouting, mostly from the cleaning staff. Lastly, the breakfast was far from what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Overall, it was an okay stay, but definitely not worth €180 a night, and certainly not up to 4-star standards.
The staff is very nice however the hotel is expensive and doesn't meet the standards of a 4 stars hotel. No kettle or coffee machine in the room. The rooms are not well isolated and we could hear guests from other rooms. The breakfast is very basic - no olive oil, no orange juice and tasteless tomatoes while we are in Sicily. Going to taormina by walk is quite a hike. The road is not very accessible, steep and rough in the middle section - to avoid if you are with kids or hills.
Hotel Corallo offers a great location if you want to stay close to Taormina without being in the middle of the busy (and pricey) city center. We really appreciated how easy it was to find parking right in front of the hotel, and the 24-hour reception and bar were definitely a plus. The pool area is a highlight — beautifully maintained with stunning views. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. That said, while the hotel is rated 4 stars, it’s best not to expect luxury. The rooms are quite basic, and the bathrooms could use an update. One downside for us was that our room was located directly below the breakfast area, so we were woken up around 6 a.m. by the noise from breakfast preparations. Also worth noting: if you plan to visit the center of Taormina, be prepared for a steep 25-minute uphill walk or a taxi ride that costs around €20. Overall, Hotel Corallo is a solid choice for travelers looking for a convenient, clean, and welcoming place to stay, with a few compromises on comfort and accessibility.
Absolutely not memorable. Just a place to spend a night and forget. Way over priced for what they offer (160€ in mid september). Staff was very polite, helpfull and nice but thats the only bright point. Room was literally white walls, white tails on the floor and a white bed, nothing else. Gap between the door and the floor so you will hear every sound on the corridor and even people talking in the neighboring rooms. Breakfast as not memorable and basic as the room. Swimming pool ok but, first, sun hides behing a hill very early in the afternoon. Second, found it weird that the staff was cleaning the last tail above the water level (in the morning but after opening the pool, with the guests already in the water) spraying a chemical on them and scrubbing with a sponge. I was very surprised to see that.
