Modern Hotel „Sultan“

Excellent location in the city center. The room was beautiful, cozy with a balcony, but we had a problem with the toilet. The toilet was leaking and could not be flushed sufficiently. It took a long time in the shower for hot water to start flowing. But the breakfast disappointed us. We paid for a full breakfast and all we got was one such plate (pictured) per person plus a piece of bread. Too bad…

We stayed at the Modern Hotel Sultan for 6 nights and had the worst hotel experience of my life. The rooms were freezing cold, we couldn't sleep at night because of the cold. There was no cleaning whatsoever. For 6 nights, the room wasn't cleaned, the towels weren't changed, and the trash wasn't taken out. The breakfast was awful. It was so cold that we all had to eat breakfast wearing our coats. The staff were completely indifferent; despite complaining repeatedly, no one helped us. To make matters worse, they didn't even send us our invoice after we checked out. This hotel is completely devoid of any understanding of tourism, customer satisfaction is zero. I absolutely do not recommend it. Don't come here, your money and your vacation will be wasted.

I stayed for one night on a business trip. I chose it because of its convenient location and free parking. However, it was the worst hotel I've stayed in in the Balkans. It's centrally located and close to tourist attractions. However, there's an extremely steep and high staircase to climb to the entrance. Despite it being winter, the rooms weren't heated; they turned on the air conditioning when I handed over the key. The air conditioner in my room wasn't working. When I called reception and told them, they said they would adjust it. Of course, that didn't work, and they changed my room. The new room was warmer but still cold. The bathroom was freezing. I couldn't sleep properly all night because of the noise from the air conditioner. I had asked for the invoice the night before. They said I would get it in the morning, but it wasn't ready. After waiting 25 minutes for someone to come, I waited another 30 minutes for that person to turn on their computer. I was late for work, lost hope, and just told them to send an email and left. Breakfast was adequate. I definitely do not recommend it.

The hotel is very good in terms of location and cleanliness of the rooms. Breakfast is inadequate. The only downside is that the TV and air conditioning in the rooms don't work. I'd also like to thank the young woman at the reception who arranged a parking space for me.

Our Balkan trip with Jolly Tur was extremely disappointing. I will never travel with Jolly Tur again. The hotels are terrible, and the Sultan Hotel where we stayed on our last night was awful. The beds were sagging; I hope I don't have to crawl out from under the bed frame in the morning. The quality of the beds is so bad. You'd be better off sleeping on the floor. The towels are the size of napkins. The TV doesn't work. The only difference here is that there was a hairdryer, but it didn't work either. I can say that it was the most problematic hotel we stayed in in Skopje. By the way, there are very steep stairs to get to the hotel's reservation area. It's very difficult for a woman to climb these stairs with a suitcase. The room lacked essentials, except for a safe. And I can say that I never expected such a disappointment.

The only good thing about the hotel is its location. It's quite close to the center. The cleanliness is average. The bathroom wasn't clean. The water didn't heat up. We showered in cold water. The white cheese at breakfast was spoiled. When we asked for tea, the lady working there almost physically assaulted us. We went with Jolly Tour's Balkan tour program. I'll give my review about the tour to Jolly Tour, but like other hotels in the same tour group, this hotel failed. It was a waste of money.

The rooms were clean and the hotel's location was good. Breakfast was a bit weak.

What more could you expect from a hotel? I don't know what those who gave low ratings experienced, but our stay was perfectly adequate. The location is superb, the cleanliness is not bad, and the buffet breakfast was sufficient. I would easily choose it again on my next visit. Thank you for everything and have a good day.
