<p>Krakow's Equality March (Marsz Rownosci) is the finale of Queerowy Maj, a month-long queer festival that takes over the city every May. The route runs through or right past the UNESCO-listed Old Town, and the Rynek Glowny - Europe's largest medieval market square - is where everyone gathers before and after. Marching past Gothic and Renaissance facades with several thousand people is an experience few Prides can match for a backdrop.</p>

<p>The march has been held since 2004, when it began as part of the Culture for Tolerance festival, and it has grown steadily despite counter-protests in the early years. The 2026 edition - the twenty-second - set off from the National Museum on 23 May under the motto "Nie rzucim ziemi", with the Mayor of Krakow as honorary patron for the first time and thousands taking part. Organisation is led by Stowarzyszenie Queerowy Maj.</p>

<p>Time a visit around the march and you get the whole Queerowy Maj programme too: film screenings, debates, parties and community events across the city. The bars of Kazimierz and the clubs around the Old Town are the natural before-and-after stops.</p>
