Restaurant 13 was fantastic from start to finish! We were a group of nine women and had the 6–7 course tasting menu, accompanied by cocktails, which were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was also very accommodating with dietary requirements, adapting the menu for both a gluten-free guest and a pregnant guest, which we really appreciated. The setting is incredibly charming and unique, almost like being inside a beautiful cave. It feels warm, cosy and intimate, and the atmosphere made the evening even more special. The staff were smiling, friendly, attentive and genuinely service-minded throughout the entire evening. We were extremely happy with everything – the food, cocktails, service and atmosphere. A wonderful experience, and we would definitely visit Restaurant 13 again!
Unique place with high quality food and great selection of wines. Attention to details with lovely service.
Absolutely fantastic food. We were quite late in the evening by the time we got from the airport but this was well worth the visit in every way. Great atmosphere, service was friendly and knowledgeable The wine list was small but both we tried were really good. Then for the food! We had most of the starters and treated it like tapas as it was quite late. Every single dish was really really good. Some of the best we’ve had… the arancini were beautiful flavour and not at all heavy. The tuna tataki was really good quality and great flavours in the rest of the dish. The steak tartare was the most tender steak tartar I’ve ever had. The crab toast was delicate, light but full of flavour. We will definitely be back on our next visit Nice and cool in here on a very hot evening also!
We thought this was a little gem, the food was fresh, tasty and well price. Service was great. Its a little escape from the busy square. Hard to find, but worth looking for.
10 months ago I left an enthusiastic 5 stars review Today the food quality has gone completely downhill. This restaurant went from a little gem presenting a stellar cuisine to a tourist trap capitalizing on the reviews of the old food. The menu is different and the dishes were all disappointing. Dessert included. The only thing that was good was the complimentary butters and small appetizer that were kept from the old menu. All the food was barely edible. Oyster was a disgrace. I told the waitress before ordering that it was my first time trying one. They served it to me already detached from the shell, floating in the liquor, not on ice, and on top of what wasn't even its own shell. The water tasted like sea, almost like a clam, but the oyster itself had zero flavor. A detached, floating, flavorless oyster is a dead one. They knew it was my first time and served it to me anyway. Fried croquettes of duck were underwhelming at best, with a weird aftertaste that felt like the meat wasn't the most fresh. Pasta with frozen argentinian shrimps was blatantly undercooked. The sauce was tasteless and the lemon was completely overwhelming and out of place. Shrimps were wrongly cooked as you could taste the fishy note that appears when seafood is wrongly defrosted (probably cooked directly from freezer to pan). Chicken cutlet was soggy and had a thin rubbery silver skin left on top that any decent kitchen would have trimmed. Uneven texture, chewy in some bites and tender in others, with the thicker parts so overcooked the meat read almost like turkey. The spices were out of place and overwhelming giving off a low-level indian, fast-foodish aroma. To end on a low note, the Tres Leches was absolutely disgusting and it was in fact sent back. The internal cake was hard and instead of releasing tasty high quality milk, it just felt watery. Even when asked to take away the portion that was still 90% on the plate. There was no remark or investigation from the staff, who happily charged full price for it, eliminating any opportunity for a tip. Standard wine wasn't researched at all. Very basic anonymous white wine. Staff is still untrained and awkward. Waiters are unsure who to refer to at the table, and they awkwardly mix 2 languages while speaking. Waiters take turns serving you, removing from the personal touch of having always the same waiter serving you. They still perform the pouring of the water after opening, but missing the follow through that the gesture would entail. Bottles were left on the edge of the table and our glasses never refilled. At one point the waitress cleared the plates even after I told her not to. I left an excellent 5 stars reviews 10 months ago, but this time is a 1 star; if I could I would go negative. I suspect they changed the main cook, and he was the core of the whole experience. Today, this restaurant has become a trap for gullible tourists. If you're a good palate looking for actual good food in Krakow, you'll have to avoid Restaurant13 at all costs.
Poor service really spoils what could be quite good! A fairly small and simple menu but decent dishes. A rather larger range of sides would have been nice as both (a potato and a vegetable) were overly fussy and added nothing to the dish. Extensive wine list had some nice offerings, unfortunately the wine ordered was delivered warm - which the waitress acknowledged and remedied with an ice bucket However - it was the service which really let the place down - I had to get up to go to the table with the ice bucket everytime I wanted to fill our wine glass…. Not once did the waitress come and serve the wine. We waited 20 mins for a desert menu then when ordering were told we were too late as they wanted to go home and were closing shortly. (“We are just waiting for everyone to leave”) Having pointed out that we had been waiting a while I was then told that that was my fault .. the waitress then proceeded to argue with me , at which point we paid the bill and left - heading to a much friendlier establishment. Pleasant setting, nice but not brilliant food and shocking service
Beautiful place great cuisine impeccable service, restaurant is located on a separate gallery underground. In wonderful experience
What an exceptional discovery to eat underground in stone... Small menu of food and wines but we eat first with subtle flat eyes full of knowing a superb discovery. The place is romantic quiet quiet impeccable service correct prices. Anyway, missing a restaurant would be a mistake.
What a gem of a place. Just off the main square but sort of hidden in a shopping mall. Downstairs in a beautifully atmospheric, vaulted cellar. The food was incredible. Service was impeccable. It was so lovely and relaxed but the food quality was high end. We got several small plates. We had rue kohlrabi & apple salad, magnificently refreshing. The prawns on toast. The seabass with pomelo salad. All of it was fabulously presented and would order again. We were also brought amuse bouche of chicken broth and sourdough bread that came with a mushroom cream spread. I will dream of it. 10/10 no notes!
Great place to have a drink -very sophisticated. Very good vodka & meat platter highly recommend. Great selection of drinks.
